I'd also like to test and help develop this project. I have a programming background mostly in java and a little c++. Not a ton of time to dedicate to it right at the moment though, my free time is still occupied getting my truck up to tip top mechanical condition then I'll be working on the carpc build.

Good work on the project, can't wait to see a release or some screenies.

Help is always welcome! We're still having good progress even though we've been very quiet lately, we have currently implemented notification and a dynamic menu system into OM where applications can trigger notifications advanced notifications with all the eye candy that's to be expected. Think Android type notifications and you'll get a good idea of how it works.

Send me a PM if you're interested in helping out and I'll send you a link to our dev forum, not a whole lot of activity there lately as it's currently only been me who's been hacking away on OM since the rest of the team has been busy but you'll get a good picture of what's going on.

That sounds great. I'll be wanting to do much of my input via a simple thumbstick/button combo located on the stickshift so a dynamic menu system is exactly what I'll need. What I'd really like to contribute to the project would be an android app that could communicate with OM and pipe those inputs or notifications to a handheld or tablet (and vise versa) via whatever transport means is available.

Not that I'll do much immediately, but I'll for sure watch your dev boards and try to get up to speed on things. PM sent.

I'm planning to do the same in my car by using a PR-1000 immersion rotary controller.

Sounds great, this is already an ongoing discussion in the dev forum so feel free to jump in.

Just a teaser. Note it is just screens shots. Don't look for a full working app yet.

Ahh I see he has been busy at work since I last saw it...

Can't wait to start playing with it myself.

I noticed on my development machine when I test run it that since I have two screens it defaults to 2 zones and opens up a screen on each display.

Keeping fingers crossed that after this weekend I will have more time to play around with it. My last test is Monday then I am off for a month before next semester starts up.

No date as of now but the latest code is always available for download from sourceforge.
We're still working on the framework and would like most of the features implemented before we officially release it to the masses (as it sucks for plugin developers to keep up with a ever changing framework).

As soon as we have a build that we feel is ready for testing we'll post it in a ZIP in the OpenMobile forum so that those who can't build the code can test it.
