feel free to post a updated/compiled basic version.

all i really need is music-- mostly mp3, a little flac, and a couple wav files(i use a external program for audio processing-- that is the reason for the carpc).

the plugin that had been worked on months ago for a rgb lcd screen was really cool, but imo, isn't a necessity...

it does seem really odd that he completely dropped off the face of the earth without even mentioning that he was really busy at work or something, but as you said, i wish him the best in whatever he is up to.

This is not an install-able version, but these are builds nonetheless (if this shouldn't be linked someone please remove).

I just run the open mobile.exe right out of the folder you get:

    http://openmobile.sourceforge.net/main/trunk/

As of now there are a few graphical files missing from the the automatic trunk builds, but they should still work. Keep in mind that these are automatic builds and might be unstable.

Just make sure that you run the EnvironmentSetup.exe file before starting OpenMobile, this configures the database to the computer (32 vs 64 bit).
    Failure is not an option...

Yup, that's all you have to do. Well, like mentioned above, you need to run EnvironmentSetup.exe at least once.

That is how I do the test in the car. Copy the folder over, run 'open mobile.exe'. Note that running the EXE directly usually runs in windowed mode. You can make a shortcut in your start menu / desktop with the -fullscreen parameter if you want it to start in full screen. If you find you're toast (testing only right now remember) then a keyboard press of the ESC button will shrink it down to windowed again.

I might actually put a computer back in my truck if this gets going again. I had pulled it just so I could have some nice stable radio (and so i could make it through a drive-in movie without killing the battery). Might at least assemble the components on a bench to test it out.

I have a log going on the rav4 forums I'm a member of, so I just got mine up and running... log tba here though. Anyways, I got functional at the least.

With that in mind, how about maximizing? I don't have it finalized yet, but with a lili701 running 800x480, the top and right of OM was cutoff (I remember the scale of OM was for something different). My last build I had was back in April though... Would a "-fullscreen" fit to 800x480, or would it still be cutoff? Or does the 701 do a better resolution (I can't test cause I screwed up my graphic drivers after my initial functionality)?

Drive-ins? Thought they were extinct? Lol... I'm still quite young (25?) so I've never experienced a drive-in, bet they are cool though... Hope you can get an install going again and we'll cheer ya on!

One of the other guys may chime in here, but I have no issues. My Xenarc and cheap monitor are both running at 800x480 and nothing is cut off. Time to dust off and download newer code and give it a try.

There is no true "scale" for OM, outside of actually coding up screens. Internally, plug-ins should assume 1000x600 for their display area. OM scales as necessary.

    Cheers,
    John

i believe the -fullscreen command should work for that issue.

i remember that OM is kinda like a vector-based graphic(in simpler terms-- i know it more complex then that), and the -fullscreen command should tell the program to fill whatever screen size you have.

i'm in the same age bracket.. there is one in my area that i keep meaning to go to sometime (i think it is like $25-30/car for a night of 2-3 movies)--the biggest problem now that many use a certain radio station for the movie audio and my carpc doesn't have radio...

There are actually quite a few Drive-ins here in SoCal. By a long ways, it is the cheapest way to see a movie. The one down the street from my house is $5/person for the double feature. Snacks are about half the price of in a theater, or you can just bring your own stuff in (food, drink, beer, whatever). Every Drive-in these days uses FM Radio, so you've gotta have that, which of course means if you've got a decent system, you won't make it through the movie. The nice thing is, the FM broadcast is stereo, and MUCH better quality than the old window boxes were.
