That's awesome! They will get used I'm sure. Not only included here and there, but as inspiration to new skin layouts and basis to morph into other graphics.

There's already some simple animations in place in the basic skin. So YES OM definitely breaks the ON/OFF pattern!
If I may re-inforce Borte's point here. OM's graphic engine is extremely capable. Almost any skin concept you can dream up can be accomplished. It does require some coding experience which is why it's been mentioned that the graphics folks and the coding folks work together.

The first step is to dream it up. Graphics person mocks up some screens, layering the various screen objects on a background to show how the menu and each of the plugins will look. Later, a coder can take that and make it real. So don't be afraid to dream up your skins. The odds are good that it can work.

This is just my personal preference and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of others, but I feel that skins should have a similar look through out all plugins. At least the OM default included plugins. But this is up to the particular skinner/coder to decide how many skins to build based on the level of work required and available time. Someone will correct me here, but I believe a plugin can set system defaults (background image, text color, etc) to allow some similarities to be used across plugins.

So go ahead. Slap together your concept pictures. One skin, 10 skins. Don't worry about "can I do this in OM" because you probably can!

Thanks to meryan00 we have an FTP site with which to share/exchange project related files. Not the same stuff you would find in the SVN on Sourceforge.

If you are interested in working on the skinning stuff and need to access, just PM me for the address.

    Cheers.

I was hoping to see more ideas flowing here. I've started mocking up a couple screenshots to show kind of things I'd like to see.

I've started with this. Not the best color scheme, but it shows how I would like to see option(s) to swipe left/right or click left/right arrows to move on to another page of menu items. As well as a user specified background.

Here's a few logo's that could be used as a background:

Not sure why this thread was closed but I opened it again.

So now I am wondering if anyone has started any concept work?

Here is my "concept only" for radio skin. Presets are buttons. Similar to my concept for the menu, you can scroll left/right (via buttons or swipe) for more presets. The colors are not my first choice. I stole the basic button from the web. Even the button shape isn't the best. But the concept is there. The currently selected preset would be highlighted some how. Just like the old pushbutton radios of yester-year (come on, somebody remembers those right?).

EDIT: Ooopps. Forgot the media button
