OM with Android. (MAYBE iOS)
Would there be an interest in having OM under android?
There are development packages that would make moving to Android somewhat easy but the software package costs $500 to purchase.
I will be working on getting OM to run under Linux and try to get it up to the latest builds for Linux. During this I may also consider doing the same for Android but if I do so I would need to purchase this Development Package and would look to recover my costs.
So to recover my costs I can see a couple different ways to do it.
Have a $2 donation required to download it until the $500 is recovered. The source code would be released once the $500 was reached and the app would be reduced to Free on the market. (I would of course spell this out.)
Provide an old version to show I can do the work and ask for a "bounty" for a newer version. No further development would be done until the bounty saw some action.
Or maybe someone can donate the development package.
If I get to that point I may consider doing one for iOS but I dislike apple and would have to make a profit off it or I wouldn't do it. There is a developer package from the same location for another $500 for an iOS version.
I figure once the base program is made the plugins should be very simple to recompile.
As far as Plugin development I can not speak for the others but I would only go for Open Source projects with the source code so they can be compiled on all versions. May make some exceptions if by signing an NDA I can get access to the code.
Note, I am NOT developing a version to run under Android or iOS at this time but trying to sort out if it is worth it to do so. I have ARM based processor boards so I can run either Linux or Android at this time. WinCE is a joke and not going to touch it. I MAY consider Win8 RT but not until I can get it on the boards I have.
