My car PC is running Windows XP and the Centrafuse frontend on a Via EPIA MII motherboard with one of the older Opus 90 watt power supplies. I've had the same hardware for four years and started using Centrafuse about 2.5 years ago. I have the Opus set up to hibernate Windows after the car has been off for 20 minutes, so that if I stop to get gas or something like that the PC stays running normally. This setup worked fine for some time (maybe a year or more?), but eventually I started having this problem:
1. PC is running fine, music playing, etc.
2. Turn the car off completely, take key out, etc.
3. Turn the car back on after a couple of minutes, PC still appears to be running fine. Music resumes.
4. After less than a minute, music hangs/skips for a few seconds, and then Windows completely locks up (MP3 stops playing, mouse/touch screen doesn't work, etc).
The only thing I can do after this happens is unplug the PC and hard-reboot it. I would say that this happens one out of every three or four times I make a quick stop. Has anyone else had an issue like this? I suspect that something the Opus is doing is confusing Windows or the BIOS, but I have no idea what to do about it. Thanks in advance!
