1. Take it out of startup.
2. Right-click XPort.exe and select properties, go to the Compatibiltiy tab
3. Select "Run this program as administrator"
4. Run XPort, enable virtual ports
5. Reboot
Hey, im trying to get XPORT to auto start when windows7 starts.
I set the shortcut into startup and even gave it admin privileges.
When i reboot, i dont see the application anywhere.
When I run it manually UAC dims the desktop and it asks if i want to allow it to run. How can i set this app only to run without asking me that?
I know I can turn off UAC, but i rather not. Is there a work around to this?![]()

Nope. No need. It's kind of like your GPS driver.
hate to bring this one back up but this "trick" is no longer working for me. Microsoft auto-installed some update and now Xport wont auto-start anymore. I've set 'Run as admin", enabled the ports, then rebooted, and before i would be greeted with the UAC nag screen asking me to click "yes" to get xport running, but now i dont get anything. I'm using win7 pro 32bit
should i try deleting the manifest file?

why would you have UAC enabled on a carPC anyway?!

You know UAC doesn't keep you from getting a virus right? It's main purpose is to keep novice users from making system changes by using a warning.
The best way I've seen to run XPort is by using task scheduler (in administrative tools).
