Turn your screen off...
Seriously, you could hook a relay up to a timing circuit so the screen doesn't start until Windows is running.
The question is :
Can i get rid (or replace) of ALL the boot screens???
I dont want to see neither the initial screen (the one that BIOS creates, i think, with the Mhz of processor, the RAM, the Drives, and all the sequence), nor the boot screen of XP, nor the "loading personall settings" etc etc.
NONE of them.
Also, when i shutdown or restart, i dont want to see the "saving your settings" and "windows is shutting down" screen.
Is something (or better all) of the above possible?
I know, but i'd like a real solution...
Bit more involved, but you could run an app at startup and shutdown (or just run an app at startup which closes with the computer) to control the display though serial port or similar.
not possable with windows I have been trying for years if you write your own OS and bios firmware you can do it
there is a way to change the boot screen in windows but the max resolution and color depth is very low and all the other windows screens can't be changed at all
best way is put a timer on the screen power to prevent it coming on until the PC is past most of the boot. That way it will look more professional.
OR even easier....
have you noticed your usb mouse come on mid way during the winXP boot screen? Well you can easily make a new one of these screens with your car logo on etc etc - there are a few already out there. I am not usre if it due to usb power being turned on at thsi point or something to do with a mouse getting told to turn on (i am goingon my MS intelliemouse explorer 3 here btw) but if it is the former then it is easy to turn the monitor on at this point with a relay. If it is the latter then hack into a old mouse like the intellimouse that has leds and use the power to them to activate a relay. That way your screens will only turn on during the boot sequence which you will have customised.
You can at least make the post show less through the bios... I have heard of people replacing the splash screen shown during bios...but youll hafta google to see if that is possible. that and the windows boot screen being changed would take care of startup... dont know about shutdown. Just cut power to the monitor first using one of the myriad ways.
Carputer status: [-*---------]
Im thinking laptop...
Thanks guys for the answers.
I'll keep searching though...
I know that the Bios screen is hard (or impossible???) to remove/hide.
I think the others are changeable (through software and editors, like reshacker maybe)...
The BIOS screen can usually be changed... you could blank it. But it will depend on your motherboard, not all support custom boot logo's.
I've been struggling mostly with eliminating the HIBERNATION screen, which shows the windows logo etc... (when going INTO hibernation mode).
I did see one post here explaining how to eliminate that one, but it did not work for me.
