    New EPIA-M VGA WinXP drivers released: 16.94.44.45

    FYI, VIA has released new revision of CLE266 VGA drivers 16.94.44.45:

    DriverVer=12/29/2005, 6.14.10.0276

    as usually, there is no release note available. However, due to just minor rev. change we can expect this is probably just a bugfix release.

    For anyone interested, I have created an embedded version of the driver.
    These are differences comparing to official release from VIA:

    - faster WinXP startup
    - smaller driver footprint: 2.5MB compared to 12 MB of original VIA driver
    - no help files are copied/installed
    - no VIA/S3 property sheets in Display properties dialog (Displays, Info, Gamma and Overlay property sheets are not supported)
    - only files essential for full and correct VGA output functionality are loaded
    - no VTTimer.exe in system tray after first reboot
    - only PnP method of installation is supported, no Setup binary in the package
    - seamless integration with WinXP using nLite

    The M10000/MII12000, etc. uses VIA CLE266 North Bridge
    The SP13000 uses VIA CN400 North Bridge

    What do you think?
