It has magiclly stopped doing this but resume time is slow like 5 - 6 seconds and shutting down to hibernate takes a bit also. My old setup you could hardly see the hibernate screen.. lol
I have a SATA hard drive booting the windows os but when ever I resume from hibernate it disconnects my ide hard drive. Regular restarts are fine but for some reason hibernate resume kills the drive.
Why would it do this?
I have seen it say the delayed writes error and I have disable cache on all and just the drive.
Something is wrong here
Mine has been doing something like this lately as well... either it stalls at "Detecting IDE drives" in the BIOS bootscreen or it makes it past there and then gives me a "Drive failed - press any key to restart" message. If I depower and repower, the drive usually comes up fine. I was thinking in my case it was probably something to do with the inverter power needing to stabilize on startup before the PC comes up.
