from win2k to winxp

I have Win2000 installed on my carpc
everything looks fine but there are two things that won't work in my car
but i can't run a frontend
road runner crashes
mediacar doesn't work

now i will try to change my operating system to winXP
but there is no cd-drive installed on my carpc
and carpc is attached to car and i can't disattach
can i install xp like old win versions via a partition and clean win2000 from mbr?

i am very confused

Yes you can install it that way but how are you going to get it onto the partition? Why cant you just plug a CD drive into the mobo just so you can load XP on or even get a USB drive? You are going to have to find a way to get all the hotfixes on too as some of them are pretty important not to mention the extra stuff like the VB runtime files needed for roadrunner and the rest.
