We have in the meantime been building out the autoappmart.com but this project is definitely still here. I think we need a sort of kick start so Bugbyte and tripzero have been talking about getting together at AFK Fest in august to do this.

I am working on the AFK fest itinerary now....

Gonna bump this thread to basically ask the same question. Where are we on the OSDash development? Are there any current services us programmers can take advantage of fully? I see several proposed services i could personally use in several programs, but i dont see anywhere how i can actually interface them currently. I also see several posts on interface protocols and there pros/cons, but has any one been selected for use?

Basically i see a massive wall of information and just wanna get an idea of where i can hook in.

How i can contribute (a windows, .net, and android developer type guy) to the project?

Glad you asked!! Right now, I'm slooowly working, along with Optikalfx, on a simple demonstration of a web page that can viewed on any browser or smartphone that presents a button that links to the Location service and returns the car's location via that OSDash service.

Where you could probably help is on the Windows side by writing a client that will respond to some of these services. Tripzero has/is authoring a client on the linux side called nobdy that combines gps and obdii and interfaces with OSDash.

We could use a client/plug-in on the Windows side that does that same.

We have a few services up right now that may be useful. They currently live in: http://www.osdash.com/osdash/webservices/ *.asmx.

You can use the online forms to test them out and see what parameters they require and what their returns are.

Matt just recently (yesterday) used the Command service to remote control his servos remotely so we've already got working tests for most of this stuff.

Let us know what you need and we'll get you rolling .

I checked out the forms but none of them have descriptions currently. I think thats what's confusing me the most at this point (after reading up on OSDash since 8). For example without a description i thought the locator service was supposed to return a users location (city, state, country etc) provided a lat and lon, but it wasnt until i read the proxy code to see what it really does.... allow a user to report his location to track the vehicle (correct?)

I'll remind Matt to add descriptions for the services.
