@Beezer: its really easy, you will see - a lot easier then with rr, cause you have full control whats coming in from the backend.
Transformation of my skin (5 screens) from rr to carmen took me 1 hours. And it was mainly deleting code and cleaning it up...
You can also add only the callbacks for the variables, but then the skin would consume more cpu then it has 2...
@ironfinger: maybe you find somebody, who likes to do it. He only needs to write a player class supporting one interface and thats it (i can provide an example). Pretty easy on Carmen side, but i dont know how it looks on foobar side...
Ok, I've tried this today...
I've changed the skin path to put the skins in their own directory for neatness. The program doesn't find the skin.
Ok, I've had a fiddle about with Flash. I'm going to have to learn to use it I think. It's not very intuitive. Until then, I'll leave it to the experts :)
I am not yet too comfortable with the default skin, but I like this so far. I especially love that it pulls all the tags that winamp does. I can properly view Artist and Title of FLAC and WAVPACK files, which is cool 'cause I want to keep all my music in lossless format, but convenience of mp3 tagging has kept me from doing it.
If I can get the basics working, I'd switch over (basics being audio, gps and maybe DVD).
@HyperZulu: i've never tested dvd playback...and i dont know if wmp can do this right.
If you dont like the default skin, you can do your own.
I thought you were using Media Player Classic?? Nevermind... I see it's WMP. That should do DVD's just fine with the proper codecs. Requires PowerDVD to be installed. DVD is not a big deal. I haven't played around with much except the audio. I'll play around with it some more.
well, i started to do something with mpc, but its not so easy... but will implement mpc or direct show, cause i want access to the filter graph. 2 bad that only wmp has a usable com interface...
Next things are: poi's, rss, usb board k8055 and radio (homemade solution). Then i will rethink about the video.
Attached are the files of the latest version (some fixes and new "virtual paths": that means you can define in the .skin file different paths and they will show up in the filebrowser root, so you can access usb stick, dvd etc directly)
