iCar.Net New Front End
This is my first post as well my first publication. :peace:
Actually I have been looking for a front end for long time, I tried manu of them, but I didn't find my taste. I'm driving a 2007 Ford Focus S (as Im living in China in EU called ST) and I really like this car anyway...
I'm not a professional programmer only doing this on my own as hobby when I have time... So why I came up with this now, cause I have realized this is huge project and I need some support, so if you are interested please let me know!
iCar: borne in end of May this year inspired by FreeICE, I coded in VB6 and used Flash for the animations, but shortly I have realized that VB6 is very limited and I wanted make it more nice.
Actually it was not too bad, animations like iPhone, I'm still running the latest version in my car till the iCar.Net will come to release version....But to be honest a lot of function still waiting for finalize...
So anyway after that I have decided to look for a new solution and come to iCar.Net, I was coded in C# and WPF took as base the backRow2. Spend a lots of night and days on it this is the stage where I am:
So this is it! I'll post here news, and updates as soon as I have...
Again I'm very welcome any help
Nice job sofar , I like look but nothing works on my laptop ,(Vista OS) ,RR works fine , have latest Flash player and OS is up-to-date. Is there any instructions.
One sugestion ,for car use I think is better to have less buttons but biger in size (touch screan issue) with option to scroll on second page where are buttons what aren't often in usage.
Thanks for your comment! :) The attached prg is my old work with VB6 and flash, not really ready as I mentioned before, but if you like to get it run I can help you to setup.
Pls tell me what do you mean by nothing works, do you have any error msg?

Works for me but you have to set the paths in the ini
maybe I am a bit confused here, this a stand alone frontend right?
When I open the zip file I get the above error...
Am I missing something here?
Vista,.net3.5,directx9 on machine.
I do have FreeIce and love it much better than RoadRunner.
Grandimperial is right, you need to open up the settings.ini and change in the [General] section the "Path=" to where your media files are.
Ahhhh got it
What are you using to do the audio and the Visualization of that meter at the bottom. I have had a VB.NET app for a long time that I am re-writing in C# and WPF. I see you are using the Telerik RadCarosel control. Looks really good.
Actually I use to looking for quite long time to find a suitable one ( believe me very hard to find, or I was looking on a wrong place..) anyway finally I got the control named CoreAudio, which is listen the to waveOut and grab the wave.
I did not really had time to get more deep into, just started to use as is and combined with a simple LED control. That you can see on the radio panel, working quite well.. :)
For the audio I use WMP, and its bar visualization... nothing special. But I will change to the CoreAudio later on all visualization...
The only thing is that I think XP may not able to handle that control, I use Vista, so some changes on the control may need....
Here are the samples I used to make my control.
