I've got everything install now wiht the exception of QT, for some reason the configure flags don't work and i get a bunch of crap.
Ok well i just took out -render, and no errors.

Actually, I put a snapshot of the CVS tree up for download now so you can get the source without using CVS. And yes, it will be available for windows soon (I should have some time this week to port it over).

Thankyou NoPistonPC. I really want to use linux as the OS for my carputer but I just have not been able to find a frontend that I like for my system. I literally was days from wiping out my epiam gentoo installation to start tinkering with some of the windows software out there.
I've downloaded headunit from the sourceforge CVS server compiled it cleanly and have run it using the Alpine, and Brushed Metal MediaCar skins (the skin package listed on sourceforge is not yet available). I had to rename some of the skin files as the case of the file names was different than what your code was looking for. Also it appears that many of the buttons are mapped to different functions in your code (not a complaint, just an observation).
I'm looking forward to future updates/improvements to the linux code.
