Thread: Headunit (Linux/Windows CarPC frontend) + initial screenshots

Hmm! Just did a quick testdrive.. Few problems. I cant get any sound! The audio browser also doesnt seem to want to load the entire directory, just lets me double click on a file to add it to a list. Most buttons are blanks right now, but I'm assuming thats probably due to the fact that you just didnt have the time to port all the features .

Oh yeah, the skin screws up in some places (Ex: 3/4 of the button 'press down' while the other 1/4 remains 'up' - maybe wrong coordinates?)

My top right hand button stays hilighted no matter what, volume control doesnt work either. I see there are a few buttons you havent emplimented, but its getting there!

iG, thanks for the feedback. Regarding your sound problems, try installing the latest DirectX 9.0. Yeah, a lot of buttons don't work yet, but as you figured out already, the only way to add songs right now is to double-click on them frrom the browser. It's just a matter of adding some simple code to do a lot of the missing functions (anyone want to help? PLEASE? ).

Regarding the screwed up buttons, it does sound like bad coordinates. What skin are you using (febs?) and which buttons are screwing up? Try downloading and different MediaCar skin into the skin directory and see if you have the same problems. I've been able to use brushed metal and more mods' Alpine skin without any problems.

I think the button stays highlighted because it has focus right now. See if it moves by using the keyboard arrow keys. I'll get rid of that focus thing if that's the case. When you say volume control doesn't work, do you mean the slider not being drawn on the actual volume not getting softer or louder? The slider is just a skin thing that I haven't gotten to yet, but of the actual volume isn't changing that's problem. Try the latest DirectX9 if you haven't already.

Awesome! That would be fantastic to get some help with this thing. I haven't checked in the latest code changes, but I'll get to that today.

Hmmm...thanks for pointing that out. I'll try to figure out why it needs that DLL.

EDIT: Okay, it looks like that's the C runtime library. What version of windows are you running? And try downloading it right into your headunit directory.

You might also have the wrong version of that DLL, try these instead:

MSVCP70.DLL
MSVCR70.DLL

And put them in the same directory as headunit.exe.
