Others might want a more, but for me this is about all that I would need in a car computer.

I only had a chance to try it quickly, been very busy at work, so this might be something I did wrong. I located a subdirectory with .mp3 files, but they did not show up.

Before you waste your time looking into this, let me try it again later tonight.

Your app is on my laptop and I am trying to get a project taken care of which had to be almost totally redone.

    Did you do the graphics?

An BTW, was able to get XM working. Thanks for your help!!

    Walt

Ok, i think i may have screwed up the example in the readme. here's a new example:

I have a folder, full of folders (albums), that are full of mp3's. c:\music\Metallica - S&M (1999) The MP3 path should be set for c:\music and when you get into the MP3 player, you need to click the folder button and then click on Metallica - S&M (1999) and then select to start playing.

I've been working alot on it tonite, and have got it so that you aren't allowed to select empty folders (you can click the button, but it just beeps) and that should keep it from erroring out.

I'm prolly going to post up my work from tonite a little later. I've got the MPEG player working, but there's something that's messed up on my carpc, so it's taking like 20 seconds to load music videos, and random hanging and such. I've also noticed it getting a little slower lately anyway, so I'm copying the media offa it as i write this, and am formatting it over the weekend. I won't likely be doing any further development until carpc is better, and at that point, the XM is next on the TODO list.

Another thing, I'll be needing a name for the software. CarPC is rather generic, and I'd like to have this software have it's own name. I don't want anything too fancy, altho anagrams are cool (like V.O.I.C.E.S.) but it's gotta make me want to use it. Post your submissions here.

    Keep the feedback coming!!

    Another Update:

Got the MPEG player working, but to to major issues with my CarPC, and performance probs with video playback, this one is use/try at own risk:

    Extract and replace the CarPC7.exe

    FYI,

Tried the mpeg viewer, but whenever I go to a directory with any video files I get a
    "Runtime error 5
    Invalid Procedure call or argument"

ok, were you setting the MPEG Path in the options to the folder containing the files, or the folder that contains the subfolders that contain the videos?

in my mpeg path folder i have several subfolders to divide my vids by type (Music Vids, CSI, Other, etc) with the vids in each subfolder. Set the path to a folder that contains at least one subfolder with your files in it.

    Hope this helps

Tried again, I created a directory called videos and inside of it I created 3 subdirectories vid1, vid2, and vid3. Each have a couple of mpg files. I selected h:\Videos in the options and saved.
After pressing the mpeg button and then the folder button I am at h:video and see the three vid subdirectories under it. If I select any subdirectoy I get a 'Runtime error 381 Invalid property array index' dialog box. Clicking on it causes the program to end.

make sure you double click the vid1, vid2, etc. Just single clicking doesn't work. I'm thinkin i may go to the same style as the MP3 folder chooser as it doesn't require the double click
