Possibly.... Im using SDL for the interface, and that is a cross-platform library.. and i beleive the MONO project (Linux .NET) is coming along well.. so it may well work, but will need the win32 specific API commands (screen positioning, thread management) ported to more cross-platform friendly versions..

Someone with experience w/ SDL & Mono should be able to do a basic port in a day or so.

Minor update (not downloadable yet, in progress).

    * SDL dropped for a more flexible Rendering Engine implementation using GDI. This should avoid the rendering and focus problems i was having with Embedded applications, and also allow for more control of the window itself.
    * Added plugin support. At the moment there are two types of plugins, Visualizations and Input plugins (for sending commands back to Mobilus based on your own input polling methods, eg phidget events etc)
    * Cleaned up some of the architecture of the main application.

Im now in the process of completing the Render Engine change and getting it responding to Suspend/resume etc.

    Hi there,

its great that more and more people do dive into coding for "an ultimate frontend". I just want to say hello to you, express that I keep my fingers crossed and actually sign in this thread in order not to miss progress reports .
Well I would also like to point out two areas where other frontends lack: full GPS support and built-in DVD player.

Thanks LagunaICE. GPS is definately something im going to tackle in a big way, as its one of the major reasons that i started putting together a CarPC in the beginning. As for DVD.. i'll see what i can come up with.

Hopefully i'll have something usable sometime soon.

Yes, there are some DLL's missing since the lib's were installed on my pc, i forgot they were dependancies.

Look on the last page, there are some attachments with the required files.

Application has generated an error that could not be handled

I've downloaded the libpng.dll and zlib1.dll, changed my documents folder in the Config.xml, and I'm still having an error... (cf image).

Any idea about what's going on? It would be nice if someone have a solution, because I'm very interested about a c# writed frontend...Because VB is simple OK... But ouch I don't like Basic!

Or does anyone know an other frontend wich is C# or java or anything else written in? I know there is one written in Delphi, but nothing else?

    Thx
