Thinking about this a bit more, I don't think it would really be that helpful to have buttons on RR send commands to it. On the search screen for instance, there is a listbox and such, with buttons around it. To make it work in a RR skin, all the buttons would be taken off of the app, leaving just a largely empty area with a list box to the right.

If you could find a way to use PNG images, that would be really sweet A few skins now support transparency (LSX, CrystalBlue, DigitalFX ect) but more are most definately on the way! You could probably get with Guino on that, or pRoFiT, as he just added an OCX with the RR Skin Editor to support PNG's.

If you are not able to add this, I could simply make a skin, and embed the images from the traffic cams folder in it. That would just leave the search screen, that once set, will probably not be needed again very often.

Great job on this man! This is a really sweet app!

The SDK side of things will definitely be sorted, but the PNG support and transparency is probably a long way off (it's taken Guino 2+ years to add it )

Also the problem is the search screen and the camera screen size are the same, so if you reduce the app size so you can have the buttons in your skin for the search, you then lose real estate in which to have the cameras.

I tried this with a mock up in the iDrive, keeping my LHS buttons, the Search screen was fine, but then I only had room for 4 cameras on each camera page.

Your rules are fine with me, as you got the Abbreviation for the United States right, and thats what really counts! LOL!

Is there a way you could give your App Window a unique name. When having anything open on the system that has "Traffic" in the title (Browser, text file, ect), your app grabs a hold of it and embeds it

Trying to figure out how to do this with not including your app with my skin installer. I have the INI file with the proper height & width, Skin folder name to use ect. When someone downloads you app and copies it there, it will overwrite the files. Gonna prob have to make a separate folder for my traffic files like "Traffic Cams DFX" and just have them manually move those files to the "Traffic Cams" folder and overwrite.

I have just tried really hard to have the installer take care of everything that it can (Dll's registered, file paths and settings taken care or, Plugins installed, registered and set up ect ect..), so it works "Out of the box" so to speak.

The 'rules' were tongue in cheek.

I didn't really plan on having so many countries at the begining so I just went with first letters. However will now change to an International standard.

It's not my app, it's Road Runner grabbing it, as it will with any app. You don't know annoying it is, I have it happen when I am doing FreeDrive, Traffic Cams, iDrive Config and many others.

You don't need to chnage the size in the ini in the root folder, the skin one takes preference. After they have extracted my app all they need to do is change the skin to yours.

What you could do is (I have written a little VB app for my skin that runs on ONSKINSTART that changes the skin settings of some external programs like Mobile Emulator, FreeDrive, Draw, Rainlendar) write a little script to run ONSKINSTART that changes the skin in the ini.

Enforcer, You are in for one hell of a ride! You are going to get requests from all over the world to add cams' to the database

I was thinking maybe you should post some sort of format that we can use to compile the data for you for our area's.

Something possibly comma delimeted, so you can then easily import that to your master database.

Something like:
West Palm Beach, I-95 and Southern Blvd, http://www.palmbeachcotraffic.org/im...era/cam011.jpg

and just have one line per entry in a plain text file. This would make importing and assigning a CamID and such a breeze, and let you concentrate more on the coding of the plugin

Basically that is all I need.

One of the main problems is that they are not all just basic jpgs, some are java some use php scripts and other all sorts of things. Sometimes the image name changes acoording to the date and time. So I need the main url as well.


if you can get the lat and lon as well that will be a big help. (for the ones that are already in the database this would be useful as well. If the cameras are local to you it should be easy to use Google Earth to get the lat and lon.)

This is for another possible addition that I have in mind.
