Also the 50/301 Bay Bridge would be useful too, especially in the summer with beach traffic.

NB the lat and lon need to be in decimal format and not Degrees Minutes, seconds. ie (34.4567,-23,9465)

With Trafficland I don't need the URL as such, I just need the webid part of the URL

So select a camera form the map, right click and select properties

so in the following url I would just need 2235

you then need to get the location description of the camera, that would be the text just under the camera

One method is to use google earth combined with the website the cameras are on and the Traffic Camera pictures.
You will need to look at roughtly where they say it is (there is normally a map of sorts), look at the picture, zoom in on google earth until you can marry the picture image with what is seen in google earth and then read the co-ordinates. It also helps if you are fairly familiar with the area/country.

Sometimes you are lucky and if you look at the source of the page with the map, it will sometimes provide the GPS coords in their somewhere, these can then just be copy and pasted into notepad.

A. Two fold, one is to be able to see on a map where a camera is in the serach screen, help you decide if it is somewhere you go. And secondly I hope to add the ability to show cameras based on the position, so as you move it will always show the cameras nearest to you.

This is a little tricky.

Apparently, when I click on the dots on the map, traffic land wants to do a video tour and cycle through all of the cameras, and when I right click on each one to get the ID, it switches to the next.

Now, I can't seem to force it to stay on one camera long enough. And when I do get the ID for the camera, and it cycles to the next camera and I get the ID for that one - they are the same!

I guess the video tour has its own ID? Not the actual Camera? This is making it hard to get the correct ID.

Based on your experience with TrafficLand, whats the best way to do this? I don't want to send you a garbage list with wrong webid's.

EX - just now when I plug the ID you posted above (2235) - it shows its I-695 at Pulaski, not I-95 Northeast (Overlea - Essex)...



Getting the lat and long is easy enough, i just go to maps.google.com and zoom up to the exact spot that traffic land shows the camera, then click on the "link to this page" option and then cut out the Coordinates.

The real problem is not getting the right Camera ID.

Unfortunatly that's something Trafficland do with some of the cameras, they make them Video Tours, in which case just copy the video tour text and use that as location.

It just seems most of those Baltimore ones are like that (I think I saw one which wasn't), but other Maryland locations seem to be individual cameras.

This is basically the beta version that was available for testing.

I read somewhere about this, something about rrgas being in skin file and not the plugin.txt or something like that.cant remember and cant find it.

This is the standalone version, not the RoadRunner plugin.

Shoot! I meant traffic cam is running 2 instances.

Standalone of RRPlugin?


if standalone it should, because it should check before it runs.


there are two parts to it.

Trafficams.exe and msatuev.exe

The first is just a starter program the second is the real program.

Maybe I'm using the wrong term.
