I've had a look at the video thing. Trouble is the only VB OCX I can find that allows this insists on popping up a settings box. Which kind of defeats the object. Maybe an autoit can be run to automatically clear it.

Unfortuantely haven't had time to add to this.

Not a major problem, i am looking at a car based DVR anyway which has GPS speed overlay etc. This will be based on the VideoCap Live ActiveX Control, the only thing is the OCX licence is quite expensive for a one off !

What do you reckon on the 1 attempt fail and then record idea ? Is this easy to implemement ?

Very easy, would be something that could be added to the ini, so people could choose whether they want it immediate or after a particular number of attempts.

It's only the class module that is commented in non english.

I have just made the changes to the code that I have. It now reads a number from the ini and will only record after that amount of failures.

ie 0 means it will record straight away 1 - (infinity) after that amount of failures.

Cool !! What part of the code was changed and can you send / post the changes so i can do the same to my source code.

Does the version you have also have where you can set the directory in the ini file of where to save the recordings.

Can you either post the latest version (and source) or send it to me at steven@wrx-carpc.co.uk

    Many thanks for your efforts,

    Steve

Enforcer - I've now added beeps to the button presses which sounds very nice indeed. If an incorrect code is enetered it then warns verbally "system recording". Can you send me the code additions to what you have done, then i think i have all that i need for a great app.

I'm also thinking of adding 2 buttons which appear only once a correct code is entered. These will give the choices of exiting to windows or to load the CarPC front end, such as Road Runner. If you start the CarPC and only want windows then you will have to wait for the front end to load, only to then exit. This will add flexibility.

PM me your email address and i'll send you the .exe and sound files i have so far.

    Regards,

    Steve
