Ah that might be because i have made my own skin file. You will have to change the Skin from "Simplistique" back to "Centrafuse" in the ini file. That should work then.

What i am really after is the code you have altered so that you can change the amount of passcode attempts before it starts recording. I presume it is only a couple of lines of code. Can you post them here and in what module they go in.

I will look into the skin selecting issue, so if no skin is entered in the ini, it will default to another one.

No the skin name doesn't matter.

it doesn't get read from the ini correctly.

even if there is no skin name it doesn't default properly.

mmm, works OK on mine. I have a directory within the main directory called Skins, then a sub called centrafuse where the background.jpg file is along with a skin.ini file.

Post what your .ini file is and i'll see if its the same as mine.

yup, see what you mean, if the ini file just contains skin="", then it doesn't default to a skin.

You have obvioulsy solved a few of these issues.

I am keen to install this in my car with these bits corrected. Are you willing to post what you have done?

I have exactly the same, when I first got the source I had to make some changes, can't remember what though.

Thing is, I didn't pay that much attention because I intend to change the way the skininng works to be more like RR, and also want to reduce the reliance on autoit.

maybe we need a place to compare code.

You could zip up your source code and send it to me at steven@wrx-carpc.co.uk. I can then compare the 2. The code isn't that big so it should be easy to do to get a good stable working platform to build on.

Enforcer - Do you still want to compare code. I really would like to see what your code comprises of so i can install this app in the car. I'm just waiting for you to send me your source.

No worries, its just no one has asked for my improvements. I have sent it to a couple of people including Enforcer who have asked for it direct.

You will have to change the skin back to Centrafuse in the .ini file as it is currently set to Simplistique to match my RR skin.

I'm just waiting to add a bit to the program to set the amount of code attempts before it starts recording. Obvioulsy at the moment it records as soon as the app is loaded, i think it will be better to start recording only after an incorrect code attempt is made. This number of attempts will then be selectable in the .ini file.
