XM PCR, and the XM Direct/Commander.

For the Direct/Commander, you will need to build/buy a cable.
Information on this is in the Hardware Development Forum here.

    Development Question.

What sort of XM hardware does this .DLL support? or Does it interact with any driver that the XM hardware comes with?

I have no XM service (although purchasing very soon). This makes it diffacult to start designing an app (for obvious reasons). I know there's an emulation mode, which I'm going to play with.

I'm @ work here so can't play too much and its quite possible I may anwser some of my own questions later tonight when I get this thing in the .Net IDE.

I also may have missed something but could someone kindly point me to an SDK? Well, maybe I wont need an SDK once I take a look @ the VB6 project example...

My main question would be what hardware and digital radio service do you guys recommed? Thnx!

    .

    Thanks,

Until this afternoon I wasn't even aware they stopped selling the XM PCR, but that tutorial you gave will solve that problem.

I'm struggling with this still. I wrote an interface everything seemed ok installed it onto another computer and didn't work, after researching I realized I need the mscomctl32.ocx on the other machine, ok no problem copied that to the windows\system23 registered it, bam everything worked.

So then it came time to deploy it in the car which is yet another machine, same thing copy the software set the .exe to be in the startup set the COM Port in the .ini file copy the mscomctl32.ocx to windows\sytem32 register it, and no go. Reboot, still no go, switch to the other com port still no go. I shutdown the service open hyperterminal to ensure communications, sure enough data is rolling in. So what piece am I missing? What was it I did on the first competer that I forgot to do on this one? Someone please help I would love to have this working for an hour drive I have this evening, and I'm pulling my hair out.

Oh and just for more FYI it's not just my developed application the included VB6 sample comes up but doen't get any data either.

Ok, I got it figured out. So for anyone else facing this problem here was my resolution.

I had the .ocx but it wasn't the MSCOMM32.OCX it was the MSCOMCTL.OCX so if anyone else faces this make sure you have the right .OCX.

I have XM playing. Frodo, THANKS for your work man I'm going to paypal you some money too.

Anyone get stock tickers and sport scores working on the carpc through XM? Not sure what it would take to have this ability, is it a hardware thing or can it be done through software?

With my SkiFi 2 you select the stock tickers you want or the sport scores you want to receive. It srolls on the bottom of the receiver screen.

    Thanks,
    Chuck
