I have been working on a new version I should have out sometime this week. The new version has desktop and startup tabs and will have a 'my documents' tab as well. all of these tabs auto populate in accordance with your actual system desktop, startup and documents folder. If you change something in or out of carshell the change is reflected in both explorer and carshell.

This will mean that it will actually become a usable shell software (instead of just a convinent way to open files you already have). you will be able to copy and move files, between tabs(which represent folders) and install programs. you can also open any file and its respective application program will load it. So if you click on MyDoc.txt notepad will open the file ect.

The startup tabalso runs all contained links and files @ startup when carshell is used as the system shell. So no more being limited to one program @ startup in shell mode. And since the startup tab actually is your system startup folder, no additional configuration is necassary and changing between carshell and explorer as shell is seemless.

    should have something up soon.

Would love to get some feedback on the overall idea of useing tabs to sort files and links... anyone have any other ideas?

I am working on a "click and hold" click just like on a pocketPC, hold for a second and the right click menu appears.

mmm my xenarc does that nicely but ya that'd be a nice addition for anybody that doesn't have it already built in, but make sure you make it an option as to not conflict with other pplz hardware/software

hmmm, would like to take a look at that, going to see if i can use the xenarc's drivers on my touchscreen and make sure it works.

What is the hold delay on the xenarc before the context menu comes up? 1 or 2 seconds?

interesting, i will set mine shorter and to work only within my app, I am sure that Lilli/Xenarc's would be a shell extension.

Can someone let me know if the Xenarc time is simular?

I will have to get some of the ny folks to download it when i have it working and maybe then i can play with it on their setups this sunday.
