Thread: iGmod Beta 2 release

Thanks for making this.

I've attempted to run this with the latest Centrafuse, and while it seems to embed correctly, as soon as I pull up the igMod menu and select "points of interest", then "business" - that's as far as it goes. It doesn't bring up any other screens, and it won't let me alt-f4 out of it - it just keeps the "business" screen up. Music is still playing, etc, and I can alt-tab to other things. Perhaps it is showing other screens outside of the 7" screen I'm using, but I don't know for sure, and the "business" menu always stays on top. What info do you need to diagnose? I'm running a Thinkpad T30, WinXP SP2, with iGuidance 2.1.

Im working with cheekz on this, I should have a solution made in a few days.

Also, I finally got around to trying beta 2 in my car and it crashed. I changed the status at the top to "unstable" until I get cheekz and my own issues resolved.

Nice! I gave it a try during my lunch break (that's how eager I was to play with it). It worked fine at first, but as I was playing with it, the iGuidance program crashed. I tried to re-open it via iGmod2 and was then presented with a white screen with iGmod buttons around it. Basically all iGuidance related stuff went white, but seemed to accept input via the iGmod2 buttons still. This was all done while in Centrafuse, so I tried it outside of Centrafuse and had the same issue. I tried to reboot, but that didn't do the trick, still whiteness. I then just tried opening iGuidance itself and it seemed to open up just fine, everything was viewable. After all that, I decided to reinstall iGmod2, I just unzipped it into a different directory and tried running it, but STILL the same problem (which leads me to believe iGuidance modified itself somehow to bug out with iGmod on it).

Ran outta time to play. If there's anything I can do to help resolve the issue, let me know. If I have time later I'll try and tinker with it some more. Running iGuidance version 2.0, system specs in sig. I still think it kicks ***, just gotta get this bug worked out. Btw, how do I play with the "Home" and "Gas" buttons in the custom button?

Ive seen that once or twice while driving, havent nailed what causes it yet.

Gas simply goes to to the nearest gas station on your POI list, and home goes to the first item on your favorites list (all the OSK's type in " HOME") for a name if you save somewhere as your home location if you select "set as home". The extra space keeps home at the top of the list. (Idea stolen from igkeys).

If you want to alter them, every button executes a command that is listed in the skin.ini file. Simply copy and paste what code you want under the actions for the custom button, its near the top of the file. A text search for the word GAS should find it.

I'm running it on IG 2.1.2 and so far it's pretty stable, with the exception of the business POI issue mentioned above. I have crashed it a couple of times doing other things and I'll see if I can reproduce those.

Has anyone run patchig on 2.1.2?

patchig wont work on 2.1.2 yet because I havent got my hands on 2.1.2 yet .

I had it crash when I pressed cancel right after I hit navigate on the favorites list. I supppose my new menu navigation code isnt as bullet proof as I thought

Yea, back to work on a couple of things. I hate how the zoomed in next turn indicator operates in CF as well (stays on top even if you switch CF tabs) so I am going to have to fix that.

I had a similar problem. I then went into task manager and saw that IGuidance.exe was still loaded even though there were no screens showing. PURDoom briefly mentioned that in his readme.txt. Once I terminated it, I was able to get back to normal. If it happens again you may want to go to taskmanager to make sure IGuidance isn't still loaded.

PURDooM, check your PM.

hmm, i wish it was as easy for me to open up task manager and kill iGuidance to get it working again, but for me, I've rebooted so I'm pretty sure that iGuidance wasn't open before loading iGmod2. *shruggle*
