This looks like a good milestone release... so I present you with
IGMOD BETA 2
Some of the features I like the most:
-Dynamic menus on main window (so you can have callout menus)
-More streamlined in window GPS info integration
-Next turn visible in big letters at the top when taking a turn
-Completley redesigned behind the scenes integration with igmod. Faster, more accurate, and less flickering/redraws/orphaned buttons
-Custom skin support (minor skinning faq included with skin provided, extended faq comming soon)
-Road Runner and FrodoPlayer support
-Saves position of program when running in standalone mode
-A whole bunch of other crud I can't remember right now
What is iGmod?
iGmod is a program which attempts to replace the menus in iGuidance with new, more eye appealing menus and larger buttons for use on a touchscreen display. It also redesigns the interface of the main window for easy integration and use with frontends.
So in essence it retains all of the greatness of the actuall iGuidance application while replacing the weaker interface designed for a PDA with a more elaborite interface for a PC.
It will also feature easy instalation of a variety of iGuidance mods not directly associated with the user interface in future releases, such as map font size editing and modifying the sound files to turn down the music playing while guidance is reading directions.
Of course, you need iGuidance to run it. Ive tried it on iG 2.1 and 2.1.1, but I hear 2.0 also works.
Known minor issues in this beta release:
- Coordinates window is not skinned (who enteres destinations by coordinates anyways?)
- Speed Alert window not skinned, nor is display options or route options
- Lots of images are just blue/yellow/red round buttons, this happened when I lost art creativity to get the product complete
- No notification if you failed doing something you shouldnt be able to do, like no route to destination or detour when no destination set
Not very stable. Some people have some issues im looking into. It also doesnt work with europe. Keep in mind igmod tries to make iguidance do something it was never designed to do, so there will be unforseen issues (usually involving the interface becoming unresponsive for as long as a minute)
If the next turn display is visible, then it screws up when switching menus ig CF.
Note that if you run the included patcher you will have to reenter the correct information for what skin to load into your runner.ini.

2.0 Blows, and it crashes. So I removed the link. In the mean time, you can use the latest "preview release" before the release of iGmod Beta 3:

Note that this is the last release I am making for this codebase; I am recoding the whole program in a much more efficent and correct format (and making it open source) which I will make avaliable shortly (when its ready). The new igmod reloaded will handle any skins the older beta 2 could.

...Anyone want to make new buttons for the POI list or anywhere else in the menus for me? I can do the up/down effect if you get me a 110x110 image to add the up/down border onto. All the current art came from various GPL clipart webpages.

Please tell me what you think, and if you like it DONATE :) Its becoming harder and harder to find time to work on stuff like this, and trust me I have alot of programming I want to do.
Finally, its supposed to work with minimal tweaking. If it doesnt, post a message and we will get it fixed :) I havent tested this in my car yet, but I will soon.
