GoogleMapsGuidance - Send a location to your car!

So I saw this cool feature (Here) and thought, why not make this for everyone? So I compiled a little program that allows you to send a destination from any computer via Google maps to your car GPS system...

    Current Version:
    Beta 0.1

Instructions for Use and Screen Shots:
    http://nuschoolphotography.com/GoogleMapsGuidance.aspx

    Requirements:
+The GoogleMapsGuidance program (from this post)
    +iGuidance3
+The iGuidance coordinate mod (included with GoogleMapsGuidance)
    +A free Gmail account
+Some sort of internet connection in your car (doesn't need to be always active)

    Installation Instructions:
+Download and unzip the program folder to any location you choose.
+Sign up for a Gmail account to be used for GPS. I don't recommend re-using an address you are using for other purposes.
+Open "mpoprc.txt" and add your Gmail account information:
    user YOURGMAILUSERNAMEHERE
    password YOURGMAILPASSWORDHERE
+replace "iGuidanceUMPC.exe" with the included version or follow the instructions from lostreception to patch iGuidance to accept GPS coordinates (make a backup copy first).
    +Thats it!

    Instructions for Use:
+Follow the instructions on my site.
+Send a proper Google Maps email to your GPS Gmail account.
+In your car with iGuidance running, launch "googleMapsGuidance.exe" to go to the most recently emailed location. (you may have to allow "mpop.exe" firewall access to download the email)
+Give your GPS email address to people you know and they can send you locations on request.
    +Enjoy!

    Special Thanks To:
    +IG3.0 Coordinates (lostreception)
    +iGkeys
    +mpop
    +AutoHotkey

So everybody, please try this out and let me know how it can be improved. I am planning on adding the ability to store several sent locations instead of just the most recent one.

    Download (Beta01):
    http://nuschoolphotography.com/Docum...ance_Beta1.zip
If the download contains a single file with no extension, add the ".zip" extension to the end of the file name to fix it.

    I love this idea.

However, the zip has a single file that does not have an extension - what is it?

I am not sure what to do with the file.

I was able to see all the files.

This is a great idea. However, I think it'd be even more useful if you could do this all from one computer. So I could be in my car searching through Google Maps then when I find what I want. Send it directly to iG... Maybe I'm asking too much. this is a great app though. I'll be testing it later.

Hmm - this is really strange - this is the link you are downloading the file from, right?

    http://nuschoolphotography.com/Docum...ance_Beta1.zip

When I get it, it only has one file in it and no extension for it.

    Zip file should contain:
googleMapsGuidance.exe - The main program to run
iGuidanceUMPC.exe - to patch iGuidance (can be deleted if you don't need it)
mpop.exe - a program that downloads emails automatically (leave it in the folder)
messages.txt - where mpop.exe stores downloaded messages (leave it in the folder)
mpoprc.txt - the configuration file for mpop.exe (leave it in the folder, put email address and password in this file).

It may be the way the long hyperlink is being abbreviated... try this:
    Code:
    http://nuschoolphotography.com/Documents/GoogleMapsGuidance_Beta1.zip

That did it... THANKS.. It was weird. It would download the zip file. When I opened the zip, it would contain a single file of the same name - but no extension. When extracted that - added the zip extension - then openned that, it worked.

Actually that would be possible now, as long as you have some sort of web browser and email available in your car, just follow the directions as normal. On the next version I will try to add a feature to skip the email step when using Google maps in the car.

Very cool I tested itout on my car pc and house pc.
One problem i see but you are probably aware of it is that you have to be runnning IG in standalone mode. Hence probably why you said your next version will be standalone.
I tried IG embedded in reddeaths front end MI and i set your program to external program it could not do it.Looks like it loses focus. I will try and write a autoit script to send the keystroke cmd to go to IG first then launchyour app. Hopefully that works.
If i run Iguidance outside of mobile IMpact it works great..
So thnaks again. I see many uses for this.
KIAs can have car pcs too..

Nice idea but is it posible to get a mod for iGuidance4? Or info on what needs to be changed in iGuidanceUMPC.exe so I could mod it myself.
