Since GSM specifies an AT-Command set, you might be lucky

well...I'm gonna go exchange out my vm4500 for it tom. so hopefully i will be able to post tom. night. To clarify what I was saying, the treo 650 was only released for sprint...it is kind of an exclusive deal until year end supposedly. After this year, it's supposed to come out for cingular/t-mobile. Is what you are saying that because it was designed for both sprint and t-mobile that it is probably going to use the same command set?

Make sure to ask them. Also look in its manual.

It's designed for both GSM and CDMA. Because GSM recommends an AT-Command set (and such devices without are useless here), I'm sure it's got it.
What I'm not sure about whether sprint locked this feature out (as they sometimes do).

sooo... i bring this up again..

i've got the nec 616v QUALCOMM 3G CDMA phone. I read that it being a Qualcomm provides some hope, but im not sure how people are setting things up through bluetooth.

The phone only supports audio gatewaying and dial-up networking (and not bluetooth serial port)... so im not sure how im supposed to be setting this up

I tried dialing #777 with no username and pass, but it didnt work... the bluetooth stack goes green (as in connected) until i hit the dial button.. at which point it dies in the *** and gets disconnected

i am using the latest widcomm driver.. and it might be important to point out that the phone is unlocked, and im using a 2g sim...

    Thanks guuys
got all excited about bluetooth.. only to find out my phone is dodgo bluetooth abilities.. Ta again!

Well... it's a very familiar picture with CDMA phones.

You can try it anyway using the same port as you used for PhoneTest but don't expect too much.

I have a Samsung MM-700 (aka: A-700). It works pretty much the same as the VGA1000 (aka: A-620). I guess us Sprint users are mostly out of luck. Too bad because at $15/mo unlimited internet, it's really the best service to plug into your CarPC.

Anyway, if anyone ever does want to do some development for these phones, I have a broken VGA1000 I would be happy to send off. It still works fine as a modem and as a head-set only phone, it just has no LCD .

Also, does anyone know what pins (if any) are speaker-out / mic inon the samsung connector. I already mod-ed my USB cable to charge the phone off of USB, but I would love it if that same cable connected line in/out instead of having to use a seperate 2.5mm jack.

    Is this thread still alive?

Zorro I saw a post that you would not support the VX4500 (CDMA) phones anymore, but your website says you still do??? Is that so? I work for VZW I have some recent CDMA phones laying aroud. I could send you one to play with. Let me know. -Mark
