According to http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=147 , it should be on the left side of your phone.

Tell ya what - I'm going to go to Fry's tonight and and get the stuff to make up the cable. The 2.5mm has 3 conductors. In theory, one is for ground, one is for audio out (going to a 1/8"), and the other is mic in (1/8" as well).

I'll let you know how it goes.

P.S. You (being a programmer) should build us a BREW app so that CDMA phones will provide notification and caller ID as well . In theory, it should also be possible to get the thing to spit out GPS.

Awesome. Wireless internet is always handy to have in a pinch.

Yes, I have the jack, but the question is what to do with it. I'm going to have 1 mic already in my car, which is going to go to my carputer, and not into the phone. Basically I won't have speakerphone or any of that goodness you get with PhoneControl.

I already made a app that does caller ID But I think its much different with moble phones though. Mine sends out AT#CID=1, etc..... Notification is when it gets the first RING.

New here but been reading about PhoneControl for some time now. I have Sprint as my service provider and wanted to know if anyone has been able to get the Sanyo VM4500 to work with PhoneControl?

I'm afraid not but you can try it (at least the thing with HyperTerminal, chapter 10 of the documentation) and tell us

as soon as my pc is up and running I'll try it out.. this would have completed it though... btw is there a bluetooth adapter of any sorts I can get for the sanyo so that it would would work with PhoneControl? I know jabra has a bluetooth headset you can buy, it connects to the headset connector for the phone and I guess that works as the transmitter and the jabra picks it up.. http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...ct%5Fid=17-976
if I got that would that work coupled with a bluetooth dongle for the carputer?

Actually I'll try the hyperterminal out tomorrow.. but Zorro correct me if I am wrong but not all functions of PhoneControl work with CDMA phone right? The sms messaging isnt a priority for me but receiving, making calls via phonebook or dialpad i guess is my main priority. ahh.. I gues sI'm jumping the gun here.. let me try it out and see how it turns out.

This phone does not have an integrated BT interface. So any adaptor doesn't control the phones native functions... I guess.

This all depends on what your phone is supporting. Til now, I've seen thousands of behaviours on different phones... try that HyperTerm thingy first and if that works, we'll take a look at the rest.
