    Auto-answer problem

    Zorro,

I already asked you in past about the auto-answer problem. I just wanted to drop a line to say hi and encourage you to do this. I know the Widcomm SDK is expensive.

The feature of "being able to pickup an incoming call manually" is a very important feature that I am eagerly looking forward to have in the PhoneControl software.

Hope you can come up with something.

    Thanks,
    Vish

    Hi Vish,

what I've done so far is to buy me a book to get a bit deeper into the whole Bluetooth thing.
I also played around a bit with the COM objects delivered with the Widcomm stack but I'm not able to get a notification when a call comes in (in fact I get a StateChange event - but that's for the bin). I know how to disconnect a Headset connection but that useless too.

Getting a notification of a pending connection would be the first step. Then I can decide either to allow it or to reject it.

As for now I've learned two things:
    1. Trying to get along without the SDK is like riding a bike without a seat .
    2. I'm not even sure (anymore), whether the SDK has the option to do what I want or not.

So, I'm still waiting and looking for someone who has the SDK and is enthusiastic enough to join in for solving this problem.

That's all I can report for now.

    Sdk

    Hi Zorro,

I was just searching for something on the internet to see if I can be of any help. I found this:
    http://www.extendedsystems.com/NR/rd...CarSDK1003.pdf

It might not be any direct help in coding but it sure looks like it might be doable with their SDK.

I wonder how much is their SDK??

Started a request to the German distributer today. I'm afraid, It'll won't be much cheaper than the Widcomm software.

    <edit>
Heard the price and my ears are still bleeding

I think, we all have to wait for MS to release the SP2 and implement the Headset Profile and come up with a useable SDK...

Considering all the hardwork you have put into phone control, then maybe a paypal donations link on your website would help towards the SDK.

I've tried phonecontrol, but so far I've been unsuccessful. But if in the future it was to be of more use to me I would gladly donate.

If anyone out there wishes to donate to Zorro, I think now is the time to step forward.

See, if I'd believe that people are willing to spend money on software I would have a donation link already

Beside, I've heard that Widcomm won't support the BT-Stack anymore as soon as Microsoft will release the SP2 for XP and Widcomm is going to finish up the deal with Broadcomm.
However, as soon as Microsoft will have the BT-Sack built into XP, I'm sure there will be a API to access it. Since I'm a MSDN member (which btw. costs me about 3000 € per year ), I'm sure, I'm gonna find a solution. But this will take some time.

Concerning your problems with PhoCo, you might have a chat with JanneZ. He has a P800 running with PhoCo and he sure can help you setting up the connection cause both phones are very similar. I think, he's willing to help you

Yeah, you're right.... it's not in the doc... cause it has nothing to do with PhoCo. This is a feature of the BT-Stack.

    Basically you have to:
    1. Enable your Headset Profile on the PC
    2. Let your mobile look for Headset devices
    3. If it finds the PC do the pairing as described an the "Hot to... establish a BT connections" page on my website.

Be aware, that not all phones will work with every BT-Stack, even if they're supposed to.
