you have to setup your phone to use your computer as a headset. I cant explain it right now, about to leave work, but do a search on bluetooh and headset and you will find plenty of info on the subject.

That's actually what I'm using, the older version couldn't even connect the gateway. I've tried it on my home PC first then the car and both had this issue. I'm going to try a different dongle...

Headset / Voice gateway isn't part of PhoCo.

BTW: Why is it so hard to post in the right thread?

Smile Using USB for serial comms, bluetooth earpiece for audio works

I dont want to use my carpc as my handsfree/headset.. I like the privacy of my ear piece...

    will this work?
I just tried this and it works, at least with the hardware I have. I'm using a Sony-Ericsson T610 with the DSS-25 "Desk Synchronization Stand" (which connects to the laptop via USB) and a Plantronics M-3000 headset. With the phone in the stand and PhoneControl configured for the USB port, I can make and answer calls using PhoneControl and the audio goes to the headset (as long as it's properly connected to the phone via Bluetooth). The advantage of this setup is not having to route the calls through the PC, and while it's in the stand I can also charge the phone. The only change I had to make to the PhoneControl config was changing:
    <MuteAnalogMic>True</MuteAnalogMic>
    to:
    <MuteAnalogMic>False</MuteAnalogMic>
because I'm not using the PC's microphone input.
Great software, Zorro- it's now incredibly easy to make and receive calls via PhoneControl with this setup. The only downside is the wired connection, but I think overall it's well worth that since now I can also charge the phone while I'm in the car.

    You're welcome
Thanks for your report... it's very useful for others who are willing to try that as well.
