Does anyone use Nokia 6600 with PhoneControl? I am waiting for the delivery of my Belkin Bluetooth adaptor. Does it work without any problem? Do I have to take any special precaution to make this combination work properly? Please share your experience.

The 6600 is a Symbian OS phone. This means, you can't use the Serial Port Profile for communication (because the phone will disconnect you and reconnect using the computer's SPP instead).

You must use the Dial-Up or Modem Gateway which will neither allow you to read the phonebook nor to read incoming SMS (cause it won't pass any incoming msg. notification to the computer). Sending SMS works properly.

As far as I know, placing calls and getting notifications of incoming calls will work.

I have the Belkin F8T003uk BT adapter. Works with no problems - using it with 6230 though.

    Hi Zorro

Can't seem to get the headset option to work. BT will not recognise 6230 as a suitable Headset device.

If it turns out that the headset option does not work, would it be possible to have an option within Phonecontrol to turn the loudspeaker on the actual phone on when a voice call is received?

Zorro - I'm getting a bit confused now

When i start phonecontrol, the only Bluetooth services it starts up is the COM port. Headset option does not work. So I then close phonecontrol.

If I then search for Quick Connect/Headset/Find Devices it does not find the 6230. I have however set up a 6230 Audio Gateway which shows up in My Bluetooth Places and is set for automatic startup. Right clicking on this and Connect will not start the service. However, right clicking in the tray icon, then Quick Connect/Audio Gateway/Nokia 6230 will start the service. If I then go into My Bluetooth Places/My Device, "My Headset" is showing as connected, and appears to be working if i then start up phonecontrol. Is this the correct awy of doing this?

However, problems are - calls are now automatically answered, and it appears that I now have to start My Audio Gateway before starting phonecontrol. Is there a way around these?

    Thanks again

I'm sorry to say, not yet.
This is the issue we discuss in the Carputer as BT Headset thread. I hope to find a solution soon.

But good to know that Nokia now supports the Headset profile with their phones.

Any chance of implementing this Zorro?

How do you do it on the phone? Is there a function key or something?

    Didn't find much about...
I guess, this feature was invented later on so they didn't put it in the documentation.

    Anyway, we can try something.
Please download the latest binaries then add the following into you config files Communication section:
    <Accept>A;M2</Accept>
    <Hangup>M0;+CHUP</Hangup>

Whether it works or not, please send me the logfile after you tried it.

BTW: I've changed the behaviour of playing the SMS tone. It now will restart your media player when the SMS tone stops playing. Be careful with that. A very long SMS tone will block PhoCo while it's playing.
