I've noticed then when I send a text message via phonecontrol, it stores the message, but not the date sent as you get when you send it direct from the phone. Is it possible to incorporate this.Originally Posted by zorro
Also when receiving a SMS the voice says 'SMS received from xxxx' and attempts to say SMS as a word. Can this be changed to 'Text Message received from xxxx' so that it makes more sense.
Thanks

No. There is no storage defined in the GSM 3.40 spec. that would carry a timestamp in a delivered SMS. This is done by the SMSC (I supposeOriginally Posted by telstargb

I guess, the Nokia has a special behaviour cause my T610 doesn't show a timestamp on stored SMS.
What I can do is to save the outgoing SMS to the local disk drive if this helps you.
Feel free to change this text in the PhoneCtl.config.xml.Also when receiving a SMS the voice says 'SMS received from xxxx' and attempts to say SMS as a word. Can this be changed to 'Text Message received from xxxx' so that it makes more sense.

Hi Zorro
Still having trouble trying to get the headset function to work on the 6230.
I can enable it on the PC through Quick Connect/Audio Gateway, and the icon shows on the phone. However, as soon as I press a key on the phone, or start up phonecontrol it drops the connection. Its driving me mad! Would you be able to tell from a Spylite log what was causing it to drop the connection.
Many thanks

I'm afraid not cause I'm not that deep into Bluetooth yet, but my intuition (this thing that women are supposed to haveOriginally Posted by telstargb
) tells me, this could depend on the fact that youre using the Audio Gateway.
Usually this profile is meant to be used for any input devices connected to the PC. In other words: If you have a headset, you can use this as a sound input/output device for your PC. You can proof this by looking into your Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices. There you'll find a "Bluetooth Audio" option in the "Audio" tab (this is especyally interessting for such things as Voice over IP).
Because every accessory that has a "Headset Profile" also has an "Audio Gateway Profile" implemented, you'll be able to "abuse" your phone as a "Headset".
Now I suppose, as long as you treat your mobile as a "Headset" (what you do implicit when you setup the Audio Gateway connection manually) and you do nothing else, it's working.
But as soon as you attempt to use it as a phone, it'll automatically switch back and disconnect from the "Headset" mode.
For using the PC as a Headset, you must enable the "Headset Profile" in the Widcomm Bluetooth Manager. Now comes the tricky part: If your Nokia doesn't connect through this profile, it supposebly uses the same technique als all other Nokias. This means, it only supports the "Handsfree Profile" rather then the "Headset Profile" (to go sure, you may take a look into your Nokias User Manual).
The problem is, the "Handsfree Profile" isn't supported through any BT-Stack running on the PC that I know.
I was merely hoping that the new Nokia phones will support the "Headset Profile" as well as the "Handsfree Profile" but I suppose this was only a dream
If I'm right, there isn't much you can do about. The only choice is to get you a separate device that can handle the "Handsfree Profile".
I hope this will clarify some things....

Hmm.. I've got an ackward problem and don't seem to be able to fix it.
Setup: MSI BToes + Nokia 6310i
I've installed Phonecontrol.net on my portable before my carputer was in and it worked like a charm.
I installed my carputer recently and now I can't get phonecontrol to read my phone memory anymore, it works great when I do it from Sim but not from the phonememory, it gives me an error saying that an array is out of range ( Will get you the log later @ home )
Now what I think is that somewhere in the time when I installed it on my portable and afterwards on my Carputer, I entered a name, E-mail or number that was bigger then a certain array in Phonecontrol.net. Could it be there is a restriction in size on the name/phonenumber/adres/mail field ?
Another think could be my portable has 'something' installed that my Laptop hasn't got but honestly I wouldn't know what. Anyway, do you happen to have an idea or can you only see this in the logfile ( Btw: it's an actual .NET error, not a phonecontrol.net error I get)

Noctris

There are no size restrictions in names or numbers (everything is dynamic). But sometimes strings will be splited and packed into arrays. If the array for any reason is smaller then expected, it may raise an error.Originally Posted by Noctris
I can't tell for sure. I have to see the log first.
