Yes I installed it. Several times, still nothing. I might try it again.
Maybe I'll try it again tonight, if not I'll do it tomorrow. I'll keep you posted, but if you know something else that might be causing it, you can always post it.

Two things you might check...
1. That there is no other software occupying the port
2. A good reset never failed

phones sometimes need that

I've

d a bit and found you're not alone

. One posting I've found said to take the cover off. Sounds funny but it might help for testing

Well I had another go installing IrComm2k. Result: still nothing. When the Irda on the phone is activated, the laptop doesn't respond.

I tried sending a phonenumber from my 6510 to a 5210 throug Irda. No problem at all. So I guess it's not the phone that's faulty.

Removing the cover??

Jeez. Anyway, I'm not going to try that with my friends laptop.

Has any one tried using NOKIA 7610 Smart phone. Well i think its not working with audio gate way and headset profile.

Any one with any suggessions

just another thaught ... is it possible to use the nokia 7610 with its USB cable to get connected to the phone control software . May be we might be lucky enough to get full compatibiltiy.
if its possible to connect via cable pls let me know as how to....

That's easy ...

You plug one of the cable-ends into the PC the other into the phone... and voilá...

i meant how do i do the configration . Like with a BT i use dial up services to connect.
what connection do i chose to get this activatd

There must be a driver shipped with the cable. It'll install a new virtual port. Use this for communication.

But don't expect to much... at least it's also a Symbian OS phone. I expect the results will be the same as with the 6600.

Great !!! so u mean there is no way i can get full use of ur software. NOt even if i have an attachment ( some kind of software or hardware ; if u know of ) some way to activate the serial port profile in the phone :-(
