Why not notifying the error on the PhoneCo window and keep searching for the COM port? (this is a common problem using BT serial devices)

Just for the record... if you set <UseReset>False</UseReset> in your <Communication ...> section, you will have the effect you wanted...
Didn't know that myself... I guess, the App is getting really complicated

I am trying to get my P800 working... I can get it to responde to AT+GMI (Reply SONYERICSSON) from within HyperTerminal. It is on COM5, and when I start phonecontrol I can see bluetooth is happening between the computer and the phone because the phone bt led begins to blink more quickly.

I then get the timeout message (maybe the port is in use, whatever)... I wonder what might be going on...I tried changing <Timeout> to 120, but it didnt work either, now it just hangs... I dont have a real BT neighbourhood because this is the builtin bluetooth on a toshiba laptop, so the software is a bit weird... but I'm seeing the BT Modem on COM5, and I'm able to access it through HT, so I thought PhoCo should also be getting at it....

From the logfile I see, that the communication with the phone has been establihed for a while and it delivered such information as battery level and signal strength. Then I't didn't respond anymore.

    Try this:
    - reset your phone
    - Edit PhoneCtl.Config.xml section <Communication id="SonyEricsson"> and set <UseCPAS> to False and try <UseCLCC> set ot True.
    - Insert <UseReset>False</UseReset>

Then try it again and send me the logfile.

    Still no go...

With CLCC = True, I get a bunch of AT+CLCC, ERROR in the log... with CLCC false, it seems to just hang...

Here is the CLCC False log... if you need the other one just give a shout I'll reproduce it.

    Thanks!

Yes, I can see that. Do you know whether your COM5 is a SPP (Serial Port Profile) or a Dial-Up Gateway (Modem). If it's a SPP, try the Dial-Up instead. This might help.

Then the only advice I can give to you, is that you try to get an firmware update for your P800.
