Question Sony Ericsson V800 and Motorola E1000

    Hi Zorro,

I have had a E1000 (3g) for a week now after upgrading from a T610. My advice to others..... don't do it.

I have played with your config files with my T610 (and T68) and i think i know my way around. The SE systems are realy good at the way the phonebook memorys and call memorys are stored. Starting again with the Motorola E1000 has given me many headaches with the format where a single name has more than one entry. As my upgrade came with 14 days trial I can return it and change to the Ericsson V800.

After playing with a demo one in store and reading the manual it looks like the file format is the same as the T610. I will keep you informed how I get on. I did a search on here for E1000 and V800 with no joy. Anyone else had any experience with these two phones?

I have a SE T610. I wanted to connect using the 'headset' service, but i'm not able to

When I list the available services on the T610 and on my PC, both show the headset service. But when i try to connect (using the wizard) and find devices with a headset profile, no devices are found !?

I tried also the same thing on my laptop (new install of bluetooth stuff) and there it's the same.

I can connect however using the 'Audio gateway' service.
Zorro, you have a T610 right? how did you connect? Could it have something to do with the firmware?

After pairing you have to let your phone to search for available services too.
Then, after the Headset sevice on the PC has been found, you have to add that one to the headsets in your phone.

    Thumbs up V800 pt.2

    Yahooo.......!!!

    The V800 is cool.
Loaded my T610 settings and hey presto it works the same......

    That is "on the outside"....

Problem 1 - I have the extra init set to *EAPM=3 (external address plan manager) and this gives an error in the log.

Problem 2 - (not sure if this is something with the V800 or a problem i have not noticed before). When viewing the Dialed Call (DC) memory the memory is read correctly (in the log), but when displayed on screen displays a memory location with what I can only describe as a "best fit number".

eg. If 100 is dialed the log says 100 with a string of "", but displayed on screen is "My Friend Fred" who's number is ********100.

other than the above the V800 is backwards compatible with the T610 (at the moment, but i'm still playing).

    Paul!!!!!!
I really want this phone!!!! The design is just sooooo
Did you go with Vodafone? I understand it's a Vodafone exclusive. Well, at least for now anyway - I've seen it on eGay for hundreds. Called them yesterday about this phone and they want 155 for it....even the 6 month old K700i videophone they want 110
As for tariffs....sheesh!! They can get a 20/month one, so at least running it isn't a problem! I've never bought a phone that was so new so I might bite the bullet with this one...

    Good to hear ;o)

    1. throw out the *EAPM... it's something I thouht it would be needed for the headset but it's not.
    2. Yes, PhoCo tries to resolve dialed/called/missed numbers from the main phonebook. This might be buggy... please apply me more information if you can-

Smile Sony Ericsson MC/DC/RC log error.....

    Hi Zorro,

The display error for the Dialed calls is like this...

    1) if you dial a number for example 196 (vodafone help) which is not in your address book.

    2) you have a contact in your address book 'fred' with a number such as '01234 567196' then Fred's name is shown in the details.

    3) if no number in your address book ends with 196 then 196 will be shown.

I guess your software is searching the phonebook entrys with the least significant bit first.

    Does this help?
I can send you a log but the only usefull parts are the above and to give you the full log file means my phonebook!!!!!

    Cheers
    Paul
