Yes, please send me the logfile.

Sometimes, when text doesn't appear in a button or a panel, you should load the design into the VisualDesigner and check the FontSize.
I guess, it needs to be adjusted to a size without decimals.

Here is my logfile... I noticed that it re-writes the logfile eachtime it runs.. I don't think during this run I actually attempted to call the phone, but I did attempt to send an SMS and Dial out... I will attempt to call it and get that log as well...

I used all default settings... Let me know if I should change something and try it out.. The only one I really noticed was <UseCharSet> default wasn't GSM..

Ok, first thing you can do is to set <UseClip>False , <UseCNMI mode="2,1">True and <UseCLCC>False

Then switch off / on you phone and try it again (this is the classic reset ).

Yes, the logfile is being deleted on every run.

If it still doesn't connect, try to establish a HyperTerminal connection and enter the command ATD12345678;<enter>
(whereas 12345678 is the number you want to dial) and tell me the result.

I changed those setting and reset my phone... It didn't change anything, except for it attempted to connect longer than before... When I hit dial, my phone says connecting, but never connects.. I put it up to my hear and it isn't ringing... I tried an ATD command from hyperterminal and got the same results.. It attempted to dial on the phone and after a little while hyperterminal got a NO CARRIER and the phone stopped trying to connect.. If I dial from the phone it works.. Its weird, because it appears to get the right command and attempt to dial the right number and the reading the phonebook part seems to work awesome...

Here is an excerpt from the Motorola documentation:

Originating and Disconnecting a Voice Call
An example of how to make and disconnect a voice call is given below:

ATD1234567890; (dial remote phone)

OK (call connected; phone stays in command mode)

< ... conversation ... >

ATH (hangup call)

OK

The only thing you have to care for as shown in the example above is, that you enter a ";" at the end the number. Because this is a indication for an Voice Call. If you don't set this, the phone want's to establish a Data Call which my end up with "NO CARRIER".

I guess, you did that, so if your phone isn't acting properly, I'm afraid the implementation sucks and I recommend that you look out for an Firmware update.

BTW: You've attached the old logfile. Would you mind to you post the new one?

My bad.. Here is the new logfile... I never did add the ; to the end, I will try that in hyperterminal...

edit: adding a ; didn't make a difference... It accepts most all the standard at commands, it just want establish a voice connection when told too.. I know it actually trys to dial, because when I atd from hyperterminal and my phone says "connecting" the speakers by my computer start to make noise if I put the phone by them, so I know it is sending/receiving info.. I will look for a firmware...

I just updated the firmware on the phone to a newer version... It wasn't the latest, but it was one that was a lot newer... The phone still acts the same way.. Basically when you use atd to tell the phone to dial, it does dial and wait the amount of time it takes when you dial an invalid number and then disconnects.. If you listen on the phone you hear the operator noise for "your call can not be completed as dialed".. The reason it drops is because it never properly dials the number, so I can't answer to switch it to "connected" mode... The funny thing is when I atd123567 numbers that are in my phonebook, the phone pops up and says "calling location" and recognizes the number, so it appears it thinks its calling the right number...

I am going to try and find some other firmware to flash my phone, but it appears it isn't making the right calls.. If I enter data numbers like the atd*99# to connect to the network, it instanstly comes back with "CONNECTED" and works.. It seems like it is always trying to connect in data mode maybe? Shouldn't be though, because the screen on the phone looks like its making a voice call...

This indeed is a very strange behaviour... hope that you find the right firmware.
Maybe a call to the Motorola hotline will help?!

There is one more thing you might try:
Open a new HyperTerminal Session then enter the following:
AT+CPBS="ME"<enter> <--- selects the storage
AT+CPBR=1,10<enter> <--- reads the first 10 phonebook entries
The response will be something like this:
+CPBR: 1,"+12345...",145,"..."
+CPBR: 2,"+12345...",129,"..."
You'll need the entry number after the "+CPBR:". Take one of these numbers and then enter:
ATD>{number};

The phone is supposed to dial the numbered entry directly. If you're successful with this, tell me and I'll see what I can do.

I just tried one of the latest firmwares and still no go... There is one newer firmware and I am downloading it now, really slow site... I will try it, but I am not very hopefull... The atd> command did not work for my phone.. All the other commands executed fine, but atd>{number}; returned "ERROR"... I still tried to dial a number and got the same results as before...

Were you serious about calling Motorola? I would assume they would have no idea what I was talking about...
