    Arrow Motorola Phones

Verizon is FINALLY coming to market with a Bluetooth phone, the flagship Motorola V710. I've been waiting for this to integrate with my car PC, however I just read something somewhat bothersome. This is supposed to be the newer generation of the V600 phone (though this is a CDMA phone instead of GSM) and the V600 works with Zorro's software.

    Here's a blurb about the 710 from
    http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/c...index.php?p=d1

Bluetooth is what makes this phone stand out, however. The V710 supports the Hands-Free, Headset, and Dial-Up Networking (DUN) profiles. Hands-free is generally for car kits, and DUN is for sharing data connections with devices like laptops and PDAs. OBEX is unfortunately not supported, meaning the phone can't easily exchange things like contacts, photos, and ringtones via Bluetooth.

So.... this leads me to believe the V600 has OBEX? And all these other phone that allow exchanging of contacts? I've never heard of OBEX until this and just wanted to see if I could get some further info. Thanks!

Specifics on this phone can be found here:

    Hello,
    I have a v600 ( its GSM )

The V600 has Obex push OBEX file transfer , Audio gateway and Dial up Network profiles and not one more ( mine )

BTW: Motorola Customer service is a shame.

I hope for you that the V710 supports all features metionned -

personally i have to wait until first of next Year to get a phone capable of the other BT profiles

what i meant was the 710 is CDMA, it does not have OBEX but apparently it will still work with phonecontrol.net as that does not use OBEX. I may just go with AT&T and the v600 though.

NO! You have to get the 710 to see if it works because I want one too. I still have 1.5 years left on my Sprint contract so you can't get the V600.

im sure SOMEONE will have tested it by the time your year and a half is up. actually, by then the 710 will be old news and something much better will be along. remember the 710 is CDMA, the 600 is GSM. Motorola hasn't announced a GSM successor to the 600. Whatever it is, it will likely be better than the 710 since it will incorporate newer tech most likely.

oh! well, the 710 wont work on sprint's network. its a verizon only phone (CDMA).
use the phone search on phonescoop.com to check out all the current and newly forthcoming phones for sprint and other networks.

Sprint and Verizon both run on the CDMA network.

    Peace,
