...or it's dodgy drivers!
Got my Belkin F8T003 BT adapter today, and installed it from the CD on my laptop, then plugged it in. It wouldn't give the "My Bluetooth Places" box, it kept saying that there were no adapters installed. I could initiate a connection from the laptop to the phone, but not the other way round.
Went onto the Belkin website and there are newer drivers available, which I downloaded (33mb on a 256k connection took quite a while!) and installed...still no difference
So, here's me thinking my t68i is going to be unusable in the car
After work, took the latest drivers out to the car, and installed them, then plugged the adapter in. Things looked better this time, it gave me all the options i've seen everywhere else saying I should haveWent into the phone menu, tried to initiate a connection, and low and behold, the carputer popped up a message saying "A new Bluetooth device is wanting to connect"
Finally!!Entered the same passkey on both, and they were talking!
Told the computer to be an audio gateway, and all is good
All I need now is a microphone and to go and install PhoneControl
Moral of this story...I'm not sure whether it is SP2 or the drivers didn't install properly on my laptop the first time round, but on my carputer with SP1 it worked perfectly, first time
