update statue:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="GB2312"?>
works on both the control.xml and the PB.xml
by editting PB.xml, phonebook can be displayed correctly
but each time refresh (downloading) phonebook from phone, ??? code again.....
You must set the encoding to "BIG5", other things won't work.Originally Posted by dragonBTV
The Phonebook and the SMS characters depend on what your phone is delivering...
As I remember, lanpa16 edited his phonebook (PhoneCtl.PB.xml) manually to get the correct charachters in there.
I don't know what he did with the SMS... you might drop him a PM.

I did read thru all threads regarding to PhoneControl, but I did not find what I am looking for. (There were some stuff I did not quite understand)
The way I setup my carputer is that MediaCar and PhoneControl to startup when I start my car. Then MediaCar starts playing music and PhoneControl comes on top. There I can do whatever with PhoneControl, but when I minimize the PhoneControl I don't have way to go back to PhoneControl.
It comes back when get a call, but I don't know how to bring it up when I want make a call.
Is there way to bring PhoneControl back on top?![]()
I see the remote interface for PCN. Would it be possible to get a DLL, so C and .NET developers can use it directly, instead of remotely interfacing over a local port?
This will be the case for version 2.0. Right now this is not possible because of the MSCOMM I've used.
By then, this part won't be freeware anymore![]()

You can configure PhoCo as an external application within MediaCar. On first launch the running instance will be captured by MediaCar and displayed within MC...
Problem is: You won't have the popup anymore when a call is incoming (cause then PhoCo it's captured). Stopping PhoCo from within MC will cause the app to be unloaded.
Another option is, to have an external button that is always "on Top" and uses the Remote Interface (which will be available shortly) to get it into the foreground.

Thanks Zorro for reply.
I guess best option would be to wait for next release.
BTW, thank you for great software.
Is that your plan? I would gladly pay for a solid bluetooth dll. If it is the plan, is there any sort of expected timeframe?
This has nothing to do with Bluetooth. Bluetooth only does the transport.
No timeframe yet.

Mine does this too, but I am using FrodoPlayer. When I start Phonecontrol then minimize it to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen there is no way to get it to maximize again. It is frustrating and I have to end up killing the program and then restarting it. I cant do a task switch with Alt-Tab since I am using touchscreen.
Any thoughts?
