I will provide at least a little switcher app based on the PhoCo remote interface...
this will help on such apps like MC and ME

And maybe... who knows... FP 1.09 will do that as well

    New updated PhoneControl

I would like to anounce that great PhoneControl is getting better!!
I had chance to try Zorro's new feature for PhoneControl last a few days
    and this is the report.

New update addresses the issue of returnign to PhoneControl screen
after minimizing. It create small icon that stays on top of any window.

The thing you see on lower right corner is the icon I'm talking about.
This is GPS on MediaCar, when I click on that red icon (not red x ), it will take me back
    to PhoneControl main page.

Icon size, location, opacity can be configured to make it work with frontend
    skins you using.

I saw version 1.2 is coming soon on Zorro's homepage, so I'm sure you can
start to download soon. I don't know what other features Zorro is planning
in next release, but one thing I can say is that it is getting better.

Did I miss anything, Zorro? Add anything here if you like.

internet connection using static phone network n' bluetooth ??

Hey guys, I have searched and couldn't find anything.
I know this forum is mainly for the phone control software, but planning to get a new phone with bluetooth and want to use the network feature.

I have seen on Tech TV and been told before that bluetooth phones allow you to use internet from provider ( t-mobile ) without having the service active, and pay for bandwidth and usage.

The phones are constantly connected to the provider network and this supposedly just piggy backs it. It supposed to work great on pocket PC's to have a constant connection, but wonder if it's as good with a car pc and bluetooth dongle ???

    Any info ????

oh, the phone I'm thinking of is a Nokia 3650, but should apply to any bluetooth phone.

    Thanks
    Don

your basicly pretty much right, and on the right track.

One thing of note in my personal setup, it seems that the internet connection from my phone (tmobile) to my carcomputer is much faster than my phone to my PDA (PPC). Not sure why, but its slow as hell when i use my pda, but on a regular computer its noticeable much faster. Maybe pocket IE just sucks ***! pocket MSNmessenger runs fine though and you can find me IMing people damn near everywhere i go

    PhoneControl doesn't work

    Hey,

    Maybe someone can help me...

I downloaded and installed everything on the required list, then downloaded PhoneControl and installed that. I started it up and the dialog box came up and asked me which port and language, I selected COM3i for my bluetooth serial connection, and clicked ok. After this, nothing happens. The phonecontrol icon is in the tray - it starts out yellow then changes to red, but I can't get the software to show up. What do I have to do? Clicking on the tray icon does nothing.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Obviously the COM port you choodes isn't right. When the icon in SysTray turns red, it means there is no communication (mobile isn't answering).

Do the following: Check port setting (take a look at my website "How to... setup and establish a BT connection" at "Step 5"). If setting is OK, establish a BT connection to your mobile manually.

OK, thanks...I went out and bought a new Bluetooth adapter and it works now. I was under the impression that the software also could act as a headset and use the computer as a speakerphone - is that possible or no?

    Thanks for the great software,

    Dan

That functionality depends on the bluetooth software in your computer, it doesnt work directly with phonecontrol.

However, I hear that it is not possible to select "Answer" from within phonecontrol, it answers automatically when the phone rings... That is what I understood from other threads...Hope it helps

Makes sense...know the name of the software that lets you use it as a headset?

    Thanks,
    Dan

It comes with the bluetooth... no particular software from what I recall... I guess windows and the way your BT works would enable or not that feature...

From the threads here I kind of understood between the lines that the Widdcomm drivers allow for that, but I dont see why other wouldnt... (I think it depends on headset/handsfree profile or somethin)
