Am I right in thinking, if you hooked this cable up to your pc from the advanced hf box, you could make calls from the pc, but speak via the microphone and listen through the speak attached to the hf box?

Saw that, but it's out of stock (probably discontinued)

there are a few places in the states selling it for about $10.

now if we could get them to ship it to the UK

Are you able to give us a pinout? It shouldn't be that hard (assuming no addiotional electronics are used) to make a cable from RJ45 (carkit unit) to DB9 (serial).

edit: the DAC-2 cable seems rather hard to get... I might get my carkit tonight on power (haven't build it into my car yet) and connect my oscilloscope to it to figure out if there is any FBUS or MBUS signal available on that RJ45 pin, in order to connect the regular Nokia Data cable (or a home-made one) to it.

The regular Nokia Data cable is available @ Ebay for 8 GBP including shipping...
USB version is available for 9 GBP

I see, only 18 GBP for a cable... If I can connect a RJ45 connector to a regular cable, it would save me a buch of money (18 GBP excl shipping) and saves a connector and a bunch of unneeded cable

I was able to find the (technical) datasheet of the HFU-2 Carkit module (as used in the CARK-91).

Also found the pinout for the X200 in it

As you can see, it are the same pins (and some more) as on the phone itself. Which means: you can connect a regular datacable (usb or serial) on the HFU-2, even without the DAC-2 cable (just juse a soldering iron)

Note: if anyone wants the complete schematics (PDF file) just let me know.

now need to order a cable since I don't have one yet

At least I prefer this method, saves me a bluetooth connection which I don't need, and makes my phone just plug-in instead of enabling bluetooth and so on first

And yeah, i mean the Mbus/Fbus cable or whatever its called, I just bought one at Ebay ("USB data cable: Fully MBus, FBus and DAU-9P compatible. Standard USB connector for connection to PC") for 10 EUR incl shipping.

Will test it as soon as I have received my cable.
