So the concensus is that the Treo 650 will not work with PhoneControl? What is the technical reason it can not?

yeah i sure would like an answer to this too.

I was looking on the phonecontrol website and saw that there was a treo 650 config file.

I bought phone control right away (i like supporting good software)

I then ran out to local electronic store and bought a USB BT adapter.

I am having all kinds of problems just establishing a "virtual serial" connection between my phone and my BT adater.

If the above is true and Phonecontrol is useless with the Treo 650 then

    A) why is there a config file for it.
    and
    B) what do I gotta do to get my money back ?

First of all, thank you for supporting software. I think that's a great attitude and I'd appreciate more people thinking this way (no matter whether it's my software or not).

Now to some basics: There is a good reason why PhoCo has a 30 Day trial period. It's made for you (the user) to have the opportunity to test all parts of the software before buying it. If you're not statisfied with it, either wipe it off or tell me. I might be able to do something about. Then, if you think it's ok, go and buy it.

I'm sorry that you somehow got the impression the Treo 650 is working because you found some settings on my forum. The settings are there in case someone is willing to try it out. I've worked those out with an user who has got a Treo but we found out that the phone has some issues with the BT interface and the internal modem. Since this is a matter of the phones internal software, it's just a question of time when this will be fixed (hopefully).

If you're looking out for a new phone or a phones compatibility, take a peek at the compatibility chart on my website. There's one rule: As long as the phone isn't recorded there, it's not tested and nobody can tell for sure whether it's working or not.

    Well
    I appreciate your response.

If you are willing to try to pound out the tweaking that the Tro650 needs I would be more then glad to help ...if not

or if there is to be an unreasonable amount of time to get it to work then I will once again respectfully request a refund

Please feel free to contact me via this forums PM feature if you wish to exchange contact info for testing/refund purposes

Well, as I said: It's not PhoCo, it's the phone. I can't patch the phones firmware (and if I could, I wouldn't do it).
What I need from you is the exact description what's not working (respective the PhoCo logfile). Maybe it's a newer firmware you have and I can do something with PhoCo to compensate it.

As for the refund: How do you think this would work, now that you got the license key? From my point of view, this is the same as you buy a CD. Once the sealing is opened, you can't return it.

well - the reason I havent responded again yet is because after looking on palms website there was another firmware upgrade for my phone carrier.

I have just last night patched my phone with this new firmware which added DUN ( i was using the hacked prc before)

.... I will make another attempt to make it work and see what I can come up with.

As for your response to my refund question ...... now that there is a new varible in the mix - let me see where I can go with this - if not I will then respond to your remarks

It's only going to work with GSM phones - is Verizon GSM? I didn't think it was.

TonyG, can you be specific about your exact setup - type of BT adapter, etc? What carrier is your 650 with? GSM?
