Basically, it appears to me the Treo 650 doesn't offer the "Serial/Com Port" Bluetooth Service. As zorro said, theres nothing he can do about this.

SuzukiAerio: Quit being an idiot. Did you see the Treo 650 on the compatibility list? Then you bought a product without checking compatiblity. Thats YOUR problem.

Doesn't look good, Michael. There is no respone from the device at all.
Maybe you need to reset your phone and try it again. The connection was established if there is no *** TIMEOUT *** as response to the first command sent in the logifle (in this stage it doesn't matter what configuratio you choose).

Upon the datasheet I can see that the Phone supports a SPP profile and it has an internal modem (at least it's what it says here for the European area).
Thus, the chances are very fair to make it running.
Maybe you have to check the phones setup. There might be some "switch" that has to be set before the internal modem can be used over BT.

Did you try a cable or IR connection yet? If not, please try at least IR (if you're equipped with it).

We know the BT modem *can* be used for this purpose, since the JuneFabric product uses it this way. The downside to that product is that the connection needs to be initiated from the phone (not convenient when in the car).

I'm glad this is being discussed again, hopefully there is some way to make it work with PhoCo. Thanks for looking at this again Zorro.

    Hi all...

A couple days ago Cingular had another update for the 650 here is the current info.

    Firmware now is 01.51
    Software now is Treo650-1.17-CNG

I Did not do anything to my computer...But now phonecontrol retarts my computer everytime I use the setup and it gets to "reseting the phone" It reboots my computer this only happens when I upgraded the phone firmware and software.
    any ideas why?

Michael, I disagree: You must have changed anything on your System, otherwise this wouldn't happen.
Maybe you installed another package or you did update your system.

You can proof that by downgrading your phone and trying it again.

I just downgraded the phone to the version I had before
Now Phone Control does not reboot my computer any more.
So the newer updates in the phone was making Phone Control do that.
Have any ideas why it would do this?
    Thanks
    Michael

    No idea.
At first glance, there is no relation between the upgrade and PhoCo (PhoCo is still sending the same commands to the phone and btw. PhoCo is not able to make BlueScreens - this simply cannot happen using managed code. It's even hard to make BlueScreens using unmanaged code).

Whenever you get BSOD's it's most likley that one of the drivers is to blame, becasue they usually run in Kernel mode.

Here's what you can try if you like: Upgrade your phone again, then install the BT-Dongle on another machine that has XP SP2 on it. Then use the Microsoft BT-Drivers to connect to your phone. For the first attempt, try HyperTerminal to get connected. Then, if this works without BSOD, try PhoCo.

If that is working, maybe the latest firmware release has some changes in the BT-Stack that can't be handled by the Broadcom driver.

ok I will give that a try..
Also I wanted to try IR or using a cable.

My question about that is how do I setup up a virtual com port?
Do I need to buy anything?
    How do i set up?
Because my IR and Data cable for the phone are both usb.
    Thanks
    Michael
