    Figure this one out...ANNOYING!

    Ok,

    I am using Centrafuse, obviously with PhoneControl embedded. Everything works great except answering and making calls. When someone calls, the display pops up like normal and tells you whos calling, then you click answer (or even answer with the button on the phone) and I'm connected. Here's the annoying part - about 10 seconds after you pick up, the phone hangs up. This happens when dialing calls too - and it doesn't matter whether they're initiated from PhoneControl or not, meaning I can make a call like I normally would with just the cell phone, and if I'm in range of PhoneControl, it will hang up after about 10 seconds. I'm sure you can imagine how incredibly annoying this is becoming. Anyway, I'm almost positive this only happens with Centrafuse and not PhoneControl standalone, but I figured maybe zorro or someone would have an idea what's going on and could help me to get this fixed, cause I can't take it any longer! Today, I happened to be pulled over and a call came in - I frantically ran about 30 feet away from the car so I could continue my call without it hanging up on me (out of range of bluetooth/phonecontrol). Needless to say, my friend thought I was crazy!

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Edit: Forgot to add, I'm using a Sony Ericsson T637 and Belkin F8T001 if that helps...but as I said this just happens in Centrafuse...

    I am having the same problem. I thought it was something to do with the brushed metal skin and all the changes I've been making to the config.ini and skin.ini to get 800x600 working well. I'm using a pcmcia CDMA phone card (Sierra Wireless Aircard 550).

    Tried it on two different computers same result. 10 seconds and hangup.

    PhoneControl by itself has no problems.

    Could you guys send me your logfiles please?

    GizmoQ: I'm very interested in your experience in using the CDMA card - it's one of CDMA solutions that seem to work

    So am I - I've got one of the same cards that I'm using for data and love it - never thought about using it with PhoneControl. If it works well, it would be a great help, since Phonecontrol and my P910a don't seem to want to play together...

    Not really, I can use PhoneControl to dial and phonebook- thats about it. Addind my phone book by hand was a pain. I've resorted to letting the PCS Connection Manager handle the incoming calls (its a kludge, I know, but it gives me the CallerID when it pops to the foreground on incoming calls).

    The problems with the embedded phone control in CF only started with the new version of CF. PhoneControl also sometimes doesn't exit completetly when I close CF. Here are screen shots and my log. OBTW, during this logged session I never hungup manually, it just happens on its own. I tried activating all the features of PhoneControl to give you a complete log file. As you will see nothing really works except dial and answer. Thanks for your help.

    This card doesnt talk thru the computer. I have a jabra 250 bluetooth headset plugged into the card for phone use and a backup corded headset for when the battery dies. I have contacted a couple friends at jabra and skullcandy and I hope to have a solution that allows me to tie it into the computer through the onboard soundcard since I just got an external USB sound card I'm trying to get working this weekend.

    I convinced Sprint to allow me to add it to my account for an additional $20. But they are probably watching me closely for amount of data usage since I had them reverse the $37 data charges from last month. My other phone is a Samsung A500 (fastest most reliable data modem last year) with full PCS Vision.

    @GizmoQ:
    Try the following settings in you PhoneCtl.Config.xml
    <UseCharset>*</UseCharset>
    <UseCRC>False</UseCRC>
    <UseCNMI>False</UseCNMI>
    <UseClip>False</UseClip>
    <UseCBC>False</UseCBC>
    <UseCSQ>False</UseCSQ>
    <UseCPAS>False</UseCPAS>
    <UseCLCC>False</UseCLCC>

    Remove strings from <AdditionalInit> and <AdditionalDeinit>

    As you see... there is not much used from the standards. But if you like to play around a bit with HyperTerminal, I've put the AT-Commandset on my website (http://phoco.net/tmp/SierraWireless.pdf)

    @Talon:
    Wait for the release of 1.4

    Other PhoneControl.NET integration problems, also posted on David's Fluxmedia forum. Note these are NOT PhoneControl.NET bugs, but problems with Centrafuse -- but this looked like an appropriate thread to add to:

    PhoneControl.NET integration in Centrafuse is *very* buggy. Just about everytime I get a call Centrafuse tells me it is from 'Unknown' -- even though the number is clearly in my phone book. One time I got a call and it told me it was from my 'Voicemail'??? There seems to be a major sync problem. Response time in general is still very, very slow: CF, once connected to my phone, will report a signal strength and battery status, even hours after the phone has been turned off and moved several hundred feet away?? I also noticed when I do get a call the window that pops up to let me know only comes up once. Ex: call comes in, I ignore it (neither accept nor reject). Call comes in again, the voice prompts me that it's coming in but does not bring the dialogue up. Hence I cannot answer the call from the screen. Very annoying. The only way to get the prompt to pop up again is to make an outgoing call and *then* it will work, but only once. Prompt does not pop up at all when I am in the 'phone' screen of CF?? When I start Centrafuse immediately after rebooting it does not receive signal strength/battery info from my phone. Clicking on the phone icon also doesn't do anything. If I then exit Centrafuse, start PhoneControl, wait until the connection is established and the signal info updates, exit PhoneControl, start Centrafuse then it works fine from within CF: the info updates, I can get to the phone screen, etc. This behavior happens everytime I run Centrafuse without first running the stand alone PhoneControl app. And when I run PC then exit then run CF it works everytime. I fortunately put my machine in standby when turning off the car but it does occasionally need to reboot. I cannot start your software easily after rebooting AND have PhoneControl.NET integrated nicely, without going through some crazy startup procedure that includes starting Centrafuse, closing it, starting it again, etc. Phone.Control.NET, by the way, when run as a standalone app, has NONE of these issues. I am running CF 1.12 and PC 1.4beta. Haven't tried it with the previous release of PC.

    I see that you're very unhappy. I'll talk to David about this.

    One possible workaround is this:

    1. Configure CF not to use PhoCo
    2. Open the Visual Designer, load any skin and modify it in that way, that it would fit into CF without overlaying the whole screen. For example adapt the current CF layout.
    Be aware that PhoCo let you almost every item to be invisible. Also position and size of PhoCo's main window can be modified easily.
    The only thing you'll be missing in this solution is a permanent Signal strength and Battery level.
