    Nokia users read this

I've improved the way of getting the contacts out of your Nokia phones if you're using PC-Suite 6.4.

    Details you'll find here:

I clicked on the Contacts folder but there were no vCards in it. Do I have to do something extra to generate vCards in addition to the regular contacts?

No, this is a live wrapper of the contacts in your phone, the phone has to be connected (I'm not sure whether or not this works only with cable connections but I don't think so).

Did you click "My Contacts" or "Nokia 6230\Contacts"?

Doing so in your file browser, you're supposed to see the contacts listed to the right.

I restarted the computer this morning and browsed to Contacts with Windows Explorer. A dialog asked if I wanted to sync with the phone, I said yes, and it was filled in from the phone! Don't know why this didn't work earlier? Now with this new xml file, what should the config line be? I currently have it set to use the Outlook pb so should I now create a "custom" entry, or what?

    You have both options.
I'd say, if you keep your contacts primarily in Outlook and you sync outlook with your phone, there is no need for you using the new converter.
This one is made for people who don't have Outlook and don't get along with PBConverter.

This is what I have currently, what changes do I need to make for the vCard phonebook:

    <PhoneBookLocation timeout="90" name="Contacts" static="True" shortcut="True" folderPath="Personal Folders\Contacts" encoding="8859-1">OUTLOOK</PhoneBookLocation>
