This is possibly one of the weirdest/most annoying problems I have had with my carputer to date. Whenever I start PhoneControl or run the Phone Test, the program begins to load and then restarts my computer. Any ideas on why it would do this or what settings I could try to adjust? Thanks.![]()
no...no blue screen of death or anything. i'm assuming i messed up some sort of configuration because phonecontrol used to connect to the phone (eveything wasnt working, such as phonebook and what not...but i was still working on that). also, i can still get that "incoming call" bubble when phonecontol is closed. its crazy weird...
As i approach 5 am, i have stumbled across some more information. Though not at first, i am now consistantly reciving those annoying "send error report" dialogue boxes when my system reboots. i started to send them in and microsoft is unhelpful as usually, sending me to this site:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response...1fcb739&SID=11
It says something about my graphics device driver, but cannot tell me exactly what the problem is. The article also says I'm supposed to get some error message like "STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER ", but I dont. Maybe my computer is just turning off before i see this though.
So, now the question is does my problem have anything to do with the PhoCo software at all? Does PhoCo try to display something that is incompatible with my graphics device? Or does microsoft have no idea what they are talking about (wouldnt supprise me...)?'
Any suggestions/solutions/ideas/hints??? I hope someone can sort out this wacked out mess...
Thanks!![]()
Try updating or going back a version for your graphics driver.

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.

yea...i tried both of those to no avail. i am begining to think that the graphics driver problem is not what is causing my computer to shut down (though i am by no means certain). i was looking up the error on the internet and the issue seems to be caused by high demand programs with high resolution. there was a fix for it on HP's website, but it didnt help me when i installed it. is it possible that microsoft is just mistaking my actually error with another error that has similar "symptoms"?
heres some more info too. the computer doesnt have any problems until PhoCo is running AND there is a bluetooth connection between my phone and computer. I can have a BT connection to transfer ringtones and use the audio gateway and what not (as long as PhoCo is not running) and i can launch PhoCo with the wrong port number (PhoCo will just tell me something like "no port"). If i launch PhoCo with the wrong port and then open the audio gateway, this also makes my computer hard restart.
Also, i dont think i mentioned what devices i am using...that might help you help me. so here they are:
SE T616
Belkin F8T001
WIDCOMM 4.0.1.700
Windows XP Home
PhoneControl.NET 1.4.3.19516

Well, today I recieved a rather disturbing e-mail from Captain Z...
Hi Kevin,
yes, I've heard about but there is no solution yet.
The problem you're talking about is not PhoCo releated. Unfortunatelly I
can't tell you to what it releates to.
It is either the Widcomm driver, your BT-Dongle or the USB driver or even a
combination.
Since I know that people have switched to another computer (with the same
driver and dongle) and got it running, I'm guessing it has to do with the
native USB support (but that's just a thought).
If you have the chance to try a cable connection on this machine, do this
and you will see PhoCo running without any other change.
Z.
Luckily, I have another computer to switch to. (I was just testing this in my house...hehe.) Hopefully you are equally as lucky if you are caught with this problem. Anywho, I'm kind of interested in this situation, so i think I might keep working on it. If I figure it out....I will post again.![]()
AND A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED (or atleast tried)

Anyway, I installed Widcomm 4 and then got a nasty BSOD as soon as PhoCo tried to access the phone... same error as others "IRQ....".
So I tried it on my carputer which at the time had a stock XP SP2 install, installed Widcomm 4 and PhoCo and everything was working just fine.

well, i tried messing around with PhoCo on my other computer some more but nothing i try seems to work. lucky for me everything works perfectly on my other computer. so, if your having trouble with PhoCo restarting your computer, the best advice i have (as of right now) is try another computer. if anyone does find a solution before i do, i would like to know though, so please post. thanks and good luck!

I have the same problem.
Phoco is running on HomePC, but not on the CarPC. That's the cause why I haven't bought Phoco already? What can we do? Another BT dongle?
