Here's what you got to do:
- Install that modem driver as mentioned in the Blackberry forums thread.
- Do the Diagnostic-> Query modem thing
- If that works, run PhoneTest and send me the output
But don't get too excited - usually those modem drivers support just a subset of the AT-Commandset. Just enough to establish a Dial-Up connection.
Skinning to go... VisualDesigner2!
I think the best way would probably be a java app that makes use of the net.rim.blackberry.api.phone and net.rim.blackberry.api.invoke APIs available. This allows you call control and notification which could be placed over a bluetooth serial port using the net.rim.blackberry.api.bluetooth API![]()
It's a long winded way of doing it, but I see no real reason why it shouldn't work. In fact, once my arm is out of this cast I may well crack on with developing something that Zorro could put to use in PhoneControl assuming no-one beats me to it![]()

Here's what you can do:
Write your own AT-Command interpreter that will apply to the GSM Recommendation and you have a working solution.
I'm not going for it.

Well my cast comes off on the 20th, so I'll have a go after that as I wouldn't mind being able to use my BlackBerry. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free - also be aware you will need a signing key from BlackBerry to be able to use the invoke and phone APIs... thankfully I have one thanks to some development I've been doing for work![]()

Indeed, that sounds amazingly similar to shark modem. I'm a bit confused though, is this just an application that would establish the correct communication settings when pairing and configuring with phoco or something that must be used to hold a connection to phoco.Originally Posted by SBDJ
Heh, just tried a bunch of stuff... sadly I had better luck interfacing the phone with my mac... on my PC it just paired up in bluesoeil and didn't do anything but look good. With the mac I was able to establish a serial connection but then lacked the ability to do anything with it.
Is there any way phoco can implement just a hands free profile to emmulate a headset? I understand that would only acknowledge that there is an incoming call and allow mundane things like volume control, but in my eyes limited functionality is better than none.
Sometimes stupid things like this really get to me, salling clicker doesn't work either for what looks to be the same reasons, RIM adopting very crude and limited implementations of BT profiles and then not giving any information to devolopers. On top of that unless you give up your first born for certian keys you really can't devolop anything useful with it anyways.
