    Exclamation PhoneControl Software

    Hi guys,

    I assembled my CarPC almost one year ago and the only anoying thing to me was, that I couldn't find a useful peace of software to control my mobile phone over the CarPC. As a professional software developer (that's what I ought to be )) I worte my own code to get what I wanted.

    Basically I've started to write the application to support the SonyEricsson T610. But as for the fact, that (almost) all mobile phones are (more or less ) compatible with the GSM standard, I've improved the software to support other brands too.

    So, this application is still growing and improving and if you'd like to give it a try, your welcome. This application is freeware, so you don't have to care about the costs.

    If you want to download it, go to the PhoneControl website. To get a preview, look here.

    So, if you like the software and you want help me improving the english part, don't hasiate to drop me a mail or post a message.

    Hey guys, please refer to the documentation (PhoneControl.PDF). It's all in english, I hope Only the screenshots you see contain all German text (cause I'm lazy too ).

    If you take a closer look onto the website, you will see, that beside the German text there is a English part too (it's marked with a English flag above )

    @Nokia6600
    It should work with your Nokia too but I'm not sure. Give it a try, we'll see
    If you've got problems, don't hesitate to tell me and send me a copy of the PhoneCtlLog.txt. Then I can tell you more.

    @dim8
    Yes, it is basically written for Bluetooth. Sorry about the connection part which indeed is available only in German... but I guess, the pictures will do for the moment
    A short overview of what you've got to do to connect over BT is also contained in the manual (PDF).

    Can't get my Nokia 6600 to work with the software but my girlfriens T610 works perfectly. Nokia sucks when it comes to following standards etc so i think this is a problem with the phone and not with your software.

    Are you going to add support for reading incoming sms messages on the screen as well.. ? That would be awsome

    I see that you get the picture on the screen of the person you have in you phonebook. How do I anable that ? Doesnt work on the T610

    I know that Nokia mobiles doesn't work perfectly but they do most of the job (as I mentioned in the documentation). If you enable loggin (how to describes the documentation) and send me the logfile, I can try to figure out what it is.

    Yes, PhoneControl does read an incoming SMS as well. Simply tap on the panel (as it says in the documentation).

    Picutres of the caller are not phone dependend. They are simply stored in the "Photos" subdirectory (how... you know, it's in the ... right... documentation).

    BTW: Did I already mention to read the documentation??

    Awesome. I think that it would be even better if you could get that code implemented into MediaCar or MediaEngine. But either way very nice job.

    People should also note that the SE T610 is just the european version of the T616 and should work fine.
