    lol!

I wont post the obvious, but just lost my driver disk and now cant get my dongle working, I have downloaded from the dongles website, they have changed their software bug writers, their current download says my dongle is not an officially licensed product so software now only works in evaluation mode, ie a 5mb free trial.

You cant upgrade from the free trial with an unlicenced product.

This should teach me (and others by my stupid example) to back up the fscking driver disk on the_day_ that you buy the damn things!

    Anyone seen a link <ducks>

just got a five, says plug in the dongle, and thats it, must not work with mine.

Everytime I buy a safecom product, I get problems.

dont _ever_ buy a scbt1100 , on their site their often call it a sbct1100, seem sthey cant even remember its name......

(I guess scbt is correct, SafeConBlueTooth)

made by abocom, a ubt1k(h), and abocom dont have working drivers for download either.

I'm going to buy a _named_ brand one this time, my old tdk in the other machine has never let me down

    http://www.mphone.co.uk/bluetooth/td...bluetooth.html

mine must be, well, years old!
works fine with the current download from their site.

That going as its only 10m and I want the new 100m one in the car.

finally got the safecon one working again, about 10 mins ago, been at it hours, found original disk, 3 installs 4 crashes and a few restore points later I have a BT com port again to try the new RR phone plugin.

It seems like there is a great opportunity for some other manufacturer to put out a BT chipset that actually works and support it with good, easily-available drivers (see NVidia, for example). Broadcom is almost solely responsible for the sorry state of BT in the market today.

Quit wasting your time with this thread. Widcomm5 is available, and more stable anyway.

And NO, don't ask me for it.
