PhoCo with Nokia 6021

Hi guys,

Anyone here got PhoCo working with a Nokia 6021 over bluetooth?

It wasn't working with my V3 as well as I'd hoped, and I'm now using a 6021 Nokia as I assumed Nokia support would be better (and Nokia would use two channels instead of one, which appears to be the case).

However:

- It won't read my phonebook (probably related to below)
- It seems to find a service called "Nokia PC Suite" in the wizard setup, on COM9, and tries to use that, but every time I start PhoCo, I get a "Bluetooth connection failed" on my phone, and PhoCo seems to think it's talking to the phone, but actually does nothing much.
- This I find a bit strange, because on my V3, and the newer 3G V3x I tried the other day (which by the way worked fine), it uses something called the "Dial-up networking gateway" for chatting to the phone.

I tried setting PhoCo manually to port 8 in the XML config, but this didn't help either (port 8 is mapped to my Nokia as well for reasons I can't explain).

Any thoughts? Tips?

I've paid for PhoCo now assuming I'd be able to get it working, but I'm starting to get disheartened and wishing I hadn't...

Nokia Phone books aren't supported by bluetooth, you've got create it by using a CSV form and then using the converter tool you got w/ PHoco. My Nokia works best on Com 4. I set the bluetooth connection to com 4 and had no more problems. Make sure you're phone is setup to connect to bluetooth devices.

Interesting.

I also have a 6021 and I bought the license key. Now when I want to install it I get an "Connection Time Out" error. I talked with Zorro on his website forum and we're trying to solve the problem.

I have a Belkin BT-dongle and it recognizes my phone. That ain't a problem.

I only have the above mentioned error.

Go to my bluetooth places, right click on the serial connection and select properties. Varify what Com port it is set to. Make sure that is the one you are using w/ phco. ALos, I believe people were having problems with higher com port settings above 5 or something.

To add your phonebook

DL the latest vers of phoco.
Sync your phone to contacts in microsoft outlook
use the export to file option under file> in outlook and select Common seperated Value CSV.
Make a CSV file which is basically all your phones contacts in a common diliminated form.
Use the CSV converter tool that comes w/ phoco to convert the .csv file to a phoneco phonebook and you've got a phone book in phoco!!
